Ro: Zăpada se așternea încet peste București, strălucind sub luminile străzilor agitate.
En: The snow was slowly settling over București, shimmering under the lights of the busy streets.

Ro: Era o zi rece de ianuarie și în biroul modern din centrul orașului se pregăteau cu toții de sărbătoare.
En: It was a cold January day, and in the modern office at the city center, everyone was getting ready to celebrate.

Ro: Drapele cu tricolorul românesc atârnau deasupra birourilor, iar bannere colorate celebrau Unirea Principatelor, o zi specială pentru toți românii.
En: Flags with the Romanian tricolor were hanging above the desks, and colorful banners were celebrating the Union of the Principalities, a special day for all Romanians.

Ro: Ioana, o analistă junioră ambițioasă, privea pe fereastra biroului său, preocupată.

Ro: De două zile, un document important lipsea și era imperativ să-l găsească înainte de întâlnirea de luni.

Ro: Biroul său era întotdeauna plin de hârtii împrăștiate, dar acum, mai mult ca oricând, Ioana bănuia că documentul dispărut ar putea fi ascuns printre dezordinea lui.
En: His desk was always full of scattered papers, but now, more than ever, Ioana suspected that the missing document might be hidden among his clutter.

Ro: Mihai, cu voie bună, lăuda sărbătoarea și părea imperturbabil de frământările Ioanei.
En: Mihai, in high spirits, was praising the celebration and seemed undisturbed by Ioana's worries.

Ro: Ioana își făcuse un plan.
