There’s a danger in putting our hope and trust in governments, political parties, culture, or personal expressions. All of these things have an expiration date and a weakness that is no match for the Kingdom of God. Those of us who are believers in Christ are called to be “in the world and not of it". We are temporary citizens of earth, but we are called to live in such a way that acknowledges and submits to the fact that “Heaven Rules”. 

God ultimately says yes or no to leaders or sovereigns. Sometimes they are seated in power as a blessing to the people and other times as a rod of discipline or judgment. But even the people who are placed in power, will someday have to bow the knee to The King above all other kings, and the Lord above all lords.

King Neb is recalling his story, to help us with ours.

Sometimes we are tempted to count certain people out. They seem so far gone that we can’t imagine them submitted to God and His will for them. But I want to encourage you, in the fact that no one is beyond the grace and redemption that Christ provides. Not even the worst among us. This week, I want to dig deeper into the life of King Neb, whose long rebellious journey has finally made a turnaround. As we look at how God’s grace came to change this man’s life. Let’s hold on to hope for the turnaround of others we love and care about.

We all know people (who according to us), may not have gone through (what the world would deem) tough things… yet; and still they are filled with fear and despair. On the other hand, there are those that I’ve met who have gone through excruciating situations and somehow they appear to be free and unharmed on the inside; which overflows to the outside. What has made the difference? And is there such a shield that we can be protected by as well? Let’s take a look at the scriptures and glean from a story that is still helpful and applicable to our current day situations.

How we go through our situations, matters just as much as what we go through. When life heats up, do you find yourself running from the metaphoric flames? Is your inclination to curse the fire and those who are watching, or will you allow God to join you in it and walk you through to the other side? I have learned that whether He delivers us from it or in it, He will never leave us to fend for ourselves. When we call on Him, brag about His goodness and invite Him into our lives, He will show up in Big and small ways! Join me and let’s talk about it!

She has worked alongside of me while mentoring youth, spoken prophetically into my life on several occasions and she has traveled the globe with me, fulfilling God’s call.

Sometimes life can be so discouraging that we assume that this must be the end. But what if, what you thought was the end of the book, was only the end of a chapter, or even the end of a page? We are not privy to what is written in the rest of the book, unless we remain present and we read it. If we give up too soon, we will miss out on what could have been our best turn around. What feels like a barren season, could actually be pregnant with miracle moments!

If you have placed your faith in Christ, not even death is the end… it’s the beginning of eternity. So, let’s borrow a blueprint of faith from 3 of Babylon’s smartest, most handsome and wisest men. Their story still speaks.

Is your faith in God greater than your ability to defend your position? Are you able to cling to Him and what He is able to do, even if he does not respond the way you think He should? These are real questions that we have to ask ourselves; And sooner or later, we will all have to give an answer. Whether we say it or not, our lives will reveal what we really believe.  

These 3 men, had faith to declare who God was and What He could do, while they were facing the threat of death. Not only did they brag about ‘God being able’… they also announced that they would serve him regardless of the outcome. Let’s read and discuss how their story can be used to infuse our own, regardless of our age, stage, or location.

Life can be very stressful at times. The enemy of our soul is out to kill, steal and destroy us. Some of his best weapons are fear and anxiety. But when we learn to ignore him, by focusing on what God has promised, His power over us is broken. The Bible tells us to “Submit ourselves to God; Resist the Devil and he will flee (run) from us.“ (James 4:7). Let’s see how this scripture was applied long ago, and discover how relevant it still is for us today!

The phrase “Don’t be hard headed” is something we may have heard our parents say to us as children! I have to admit, I’ve said the same thing to my own a time or two, (but that was a long, long time ago, of course). In this episode, we are going to discuss the response of someone to whom God clearly showed His power in an undeniable way; and then this same man, King Neb, turns around and does his own thing, as if God had never spoken to him in the first place. Let’s see what we can learn from his story to apply to our own.
