  • 85: When Your Intention Doesn't Come True | Season 4, Episode 4
Have you ever been asked to set an intention at the beginning of your yoga practice? Or have you tried switching from goals to intentions? There's a lot of mixed messages about intentions, so in this episode we get into the yoga version, sankalpa, and see what it has to reveal about our yoga practice and life.

  • 83: What Yoga Helped Me See About Myself | Season 4, Episode 3
You know how sometimes you think you know yourself, and then -- voom -- you realize there's a whole lot going on that you weren't aware of? Yeah. In this episode I'm talking about a big one of those times for me, and what it helped me open to that changed my life in a pretty profound way. We also talk about what all this has to do with Yoga Sutra 1.2, which is our exploration this week -- Yoga is the state in which the agitations of consciousness are resolved (tr. Judith Lasater).

  • 81: What Happened When I Lost My Breath | Season 4, Episode 2
So, I lost my breath recently -- for about a month. I was breathing so shallowly to be almost imperceptible. In today's episode I'm sharing about what happened when I found it -- and what it has to do with our theme this week, which is ahimsa, or compassion.
Also, we've got a guided meditation for our Body Invocation of the week: May my compassion start with me.

  • 79: On (Not) Living in the Now | Season 4, Episode 1
Ohh...I'm so excited to be starting Season FOUR of this podcast! Hard to believe.
This season I'm going to be sharing what I'm learning (and resisting -- ha!) in real time about our theme of the week in The Stretch. The Stretch is our four-month practice experience, and this round we're focusing on yoga philosophy and how it applies to both body acceptance and life.
Our theme this week is from Yoga Sutra 1.1, which translates as "Now the yoga begins." Our invocation, a new resource this round, is "May I live in this body now." So in this episode I'm sharing what happened this week -- in what I first perceived as both good and bad ways -- when I brought that invocation to my mat and life.
ALSO -- guided meditations are back due to popular request!! This week's is below

  • 78: My Everyday Yoga & Body Acceptance Practices | Season 3, Episode 29
This is the last episode of Season 3! As we wrap up, I wanted to share my everyday yoga and body acceptance practices -- the tools in my toolbox that I choose from on a regular basis. I wanted to share these because I think so often it can seem like everyone else's practice is more time-consuming, important, or glamorous than yours. So in this episode, I dispel that myth -- at least about my own practice. ;)

  • 77: The Time I Gave Up on Yoga | Season 3, Episode 28
I don't know about you, but I haven't been gung-ho for yoga 24/7/365 since the very first time I stepped on my mat. Too often, though, I think people get the idea that if they're not fully enthusiastic and dedicated at all times then something is at least slightly wrong with them -- if not entirely.
So in today's episode I dig into that idea, share my own story of quitting yoga (or wanting to!), and another way to think about your practice.
