92: Grant Bowen - You’re The One That I Want

This is Love Hurts. I’m Bryan Berlin. Grant Bowen is an actor, writer, and storyteller living in New York. In high school, Grant played Danny in the production of Grease and ended up falling for the girl playing Sandy. They went on a date and there wasn’t really a spark, but Grant felt he had to find a way to create one. The story ends in an embarrassing fashion, but we both talk about how tough it is to know what you’re doing with dating at that age, and share what we’ve learned since.

Grant co-hosts a storytelling show called Awkward Teenage Years. Their next show is October 22nd at 8pm, which you can livestream here.

This is Love Hurts. Kevin Allison is the creator and host of RISK!, a podcast where people share stories that they never thought they’d share in public. The first sexual experience Kevin had after his marriage ended at 40 really stuck with him, so much so that he shared the story of that heartbreak days after it happened on his podcast. In our conversation, he looks back on that story and how he’s changed and navigated dating and the kink community since that experience.
