**TRIGGER WARNING**

Episode 32 is the episode that has been avoided until now due to the triggering content and revisiting some pretty heavy events during an abusive relationship. I start the episode by saying 'I hope to just lightly touch on some points and share a couple of things quickly, but it will likely get heavy' and yes as usual, it does.

As someone partial to an overshare, I still found this one a challenge, sharing literal hot tea, story time, whatever you want to call it and all my thought processes before, during and after events. As someone who keeps things private yourself, you may wonder why share? If it weren't for survivors sharing, DV wouldn't be criminalised, and now coercive control wouldn't be starting to be illegal in many countries as well. The one thing abusers rely on is isolation of their victim to continue their control and abuse. When we share, we know we are not alone, it's not our fault and it's not ok. The whole point of this podcast shines through episodes like this where I give of my own personal horrors and traumas in the hope of freeing someone else from similar. Knowledge is power and the old 'if I knew then what I know now' in hindsight helps but imagine actually knowing then? So be prepared it hits heavy topics but with my awkward humour at times it's done lightly and as gently as possible.

Using & manipulating others to isolate their victims and gain more power and control sounds sick? It is! Learn about What is Triangulation and its different forms in this episode. As usual I spill tea, sharing my own experiences. The pennies drop as I realise this not only happened but the constant efforts for a perpetrator to use this to attempt to continue abuse and control was actually ridiculous. To anyone going through this my heart aches for you. You're not alone and its NOT your fault.

Ohhhh gee willy winkers, yet another unhinged episode recorded in the wee hours. The cringing is so real I couldn't even listen to it before sending it out into the world. Listen at your own risk. In today's episode, I explore why the statistics in all countries reflect a significant increase in domestic violence in the Christmas period. We start with stats and facts then dive into why abusers increase in their destructive behaviours during Christmas. Then it's Storytime! Sharing a survivor from New Zealand's story as well as my own experiences around Christmas with the perp I knew.
