ANOTHER DOUBLE EPISODE-CONFESSION TIME!

EP 21 is my confession that growing up I was conditioned with misogynistic values, ideas and beliefs without even knowing it. I then took those beliefs into adulthood and had no idea what feminism really was. Now my eyes are open! Unfortunately, so many women continue to spread Internalised Misogyny to this day.  I share many personal stories, even about a Wet t shirt competition, to describe how my view point has changed and how toxic that way of thinking was.

DOUBLE EPISODE! Ever wanted to know a victims personal experience of getting justice? When I came out of DV I had no idea what was happening and would've literally paid to hear someone else's experience! In this episode I read the lists of charges and sentenced charges and describe what the criminal did that was related to each charge.

Note that these charges are from one event only. There were many more charges sentenced against this offender prior to this incident.

I also describe how it all worked from Police, then detectives, all the way through to Sentencing. No identifying info has been supplied. My personal experiences only are shared, so this is not legal advice.

Following on from Ep 17 FINANCIAL ABUSE, I (over) share a story from when an ex used manipulation to move in and lie about contributing financially, only to steal and never contribute a cent. I expose many ways in which I was able to be fooled in the hopes others may dodge a similar situation. Even if this doesn't help someone practically, I do hope you feel less alone (or silly) if anything resonates with you and your experiences.

In this episode, we explore the psychosocial phenomenon, the BYSTANDER EFFECT and how many survivors have reported witnesses ignoring pleas for help/not calling police. Many of us have heard that "if you're being raped, yell fire because people will be more inclined to assist in a fire, but turn a blind eye to rape". There is a psychological theory behind this. It is devastating to learn about the rape and murder of a woman in 1964 with many witnesses who did nothing, and how that lead to the term Bystander Effect. This episode also includes a few story times to support the topic so it's kind of a "two fa"- a 2-4-1 of sorts.

"If you've been through DV before, no-one will believe you if you tell them I abused you". This explains why I found an abuser sharing fake stories and sexy selfies on Domestic Violence FB groups. Like a fisherman looking for their next catch, this predator intentionally went looking for his next victims in Domestic Violence Survivor Groups.
