Vitamin D with Dawn Dai

Love. Live. Life.

Listen Later

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to loving life. Do you love the life that you are living and living the life that you love? If not, why? What are you waiting on? Why aren’t you proud of yourself and who you’ve become? How long are you going to stand behind your pride and shame? When are you going to give yourself permission to be great? To be loved? To be wanted? To be authentically you?

Life is meant to be beautiful. That doesn’t mean it’s going to be perfect. In fact, it’s the very opposite of that. However, with patience and clarity, you begin to understand that in life everything is happening for your greater good. For example, being initially rejected from Howard University taught me that I have to fight for what I want and when I do, I can achieve anything I set my mind to. The death of my mother taught me that the greatest form of love is letting go and that I can handle any hardship that comes my way. Moving to LA with only $1000 in my pocket taught me that you have to jump for your dreams and take a chance on life.

I want you to love your life, the good and the bad. Understand how beautiful it is and how beautiful it makes you. Take heed to every roadblock that comes your way and jot down the lessons. Take your guard down and be present to all of what life has to offer you. Just like Natalie Taylor belts in her song, “Love Life,” give yourself permission to “love life…it’s beautiful, you’re beautiful.” Choose to love life and “feel alive every time. Just be free, there's a strength deep inside that lets you be just how beautiful you are.” There is beauty in everything; you just have to have the courage to see it.

Love. Live. Life.
