  • Step One: Connect to Self

Three years ago, meditation seemed impossible to me. My mind raced, my thoughts were scattered, I couldn't turn my brain off... Sound familiar? Practicing meditation daily taught my brain how to slow down, become quiet, and organize my thoughts. It has helped me heal in so many ways. I am excited to share some getting started techniques with you on this very first episode! Using senses to bring mind back to body trains the brain to reconnect to self and stay present. This episode of guided mediation is perfect for everyone, novice to expert! Sending you love, joy, and ease with today's meditation!

  • mom-o-rama

Gianni + Jackie bring something to the table i can't — motherhood. i mean, i love my fur + plant babies, but not the same...especially when it comes to the pregnancy post weight loss surgery mind fuck. i kept hearing friends talking about their post wls baby struggles + how not enough information is out there. my solution: give two women a platform to share what's missing  + needed in the wls community. Gianni is a first time mom. Jackie has two beautiful children (pre + post wls). in this episode, they share how to navigate the struggles, beliefs + weight gain encountered during + post pregnancy, along with their best advice to other wls moms + moms-to-be!

the podcast will be on hiatus until at least August 2020. thank you for all your support! xo, L

  • come as you are
Alisa joins me in this episode to share her story about being the only brown girl in the yoga room, molestation + depression in the Black community + how to shift from "this is who i am, deal with it" to deeper connections + improved relationships with self + others. Alisa used her own Baptiste Yoga Teacher Training to break down racial barriers she'd built, understand how to move with depression on a deeper level + guide other women to being enough as they are.
Alisa referenced this book, A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose, in this episode.

  • should i stay or should i GO?

before having bariatric surgery, i explained to my then husband that divorce rates went up after surgery. i asked if it was still a decision we were ready to make. neither one of us thought it would be us, so we decided to put my health first + move forward with surgery.

weight loss was one catalyst of change in my life. it helped me realize i was worthy of personal growth + achieving the goals i put on hold for love. this isn't true for everyone, but many of us realize our truths on this path.

Jackie + Brittany joined me in this episode to share their truths — why they walked away, how it felt + what it taught them.

the purpose of this episode is not to promote divorce. i want you to choose what is best for you + move with fear. that may mean stay + fight, that may mean leave. in the end, it's up to you.

the purpose of this episode is to remind you of your power. how will you use it?
