Nobody, but nobody, does Christmas like Michael Bublé does Christmas!

This year he's gifted us with a beautiful new single, "Maybe This Christmas", recorded with Carly Pearce. He calls it "a special song that comes from a deep place" wrapping up his hope, his faith and his humanity, in a prayer for grace for himself and the world. I cried when I heard it. You will too.

Michael took on a new role recently, as a coach on Season 26 of The Voice, and was gushing about it and the friendships he's forged with the other coaches when we sat down to chat. (Soon after our conversation, he became the first coach in the history of the show to have the top two artists on his team on his debut season!) He debuted "Maybe This Christmas" on the season finale, and today I get to share it all with you.

Hungry for a little inspiration? I've got a heaping helping of it on today's podcast episode. He's not 12 years old anymore, but Joey McIntyre is still the youngest member of New Kids on The Block, who are still performing to sold out crowds! But the very talented Joey has a lot of other things in the works too.

Like the single with Shoshana Bean, "A Brand New Christmas", from Roku's original movie he stars in, Jingle Bell Love.  He's also starring in an off-broadway musical "DRAG" at New Worlds Stage, and has a full-length LP coming out in the new year. "Freedom" is an album that explores his upbringing and path to pop stardom. The single, "Is Anybody Out There" was released in November! If that's not enough, NKOTB will be starting a residency at Park MGM in Las Vegas in the summer of 2025!!!

It's not Christmas without "Last Christmas", released by English pop duo WHAM! 40 long years ago. I'm in disbelief that I've been spinning that tune for as long as I have.

George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley - as WHAM! - set out to conquer the music world in 1982. They were still teenagers! And it was in 1986 they performed together as WHAM! for the last time after successfully completing their mission. Hit after hit - "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go", "Freedom," "I’m Your Man",  and of course, "Last Christmas", made their time in the spotlight white-hot. After starting out with humble beginnings singing in their father’s church in West Oakland, CA, The Pointer Sisters went on to achieve worldwide success and a place in pop music history.

The eldest sister, and only remaining member of the original group, Ruth Pointer, continues to perform the music of The Pointer Sisters all over the globe with her daughter, Issa Pointer, and granddaughter, Sadako Pointer. What an absolute thrill it was to speak to this talented trailblazer. We laughed so much, especially when she caught me out on an on-air oopsie I made yeeeaaarrrs ago, and Ruth was listening! 

The Pointer Sisters will be joining The Commodores and The Spinners for a limited engagement tour this summer through the fall sharing an "unforgettable evening of classics hits." What an opportunity! ~ Delilah
