This chapter marks the end of Jesus’ public ministry and the giving of a new commandment: to love one another. This theme of love takes us even deeper as Jesus tells them to love as he has loved. The study of Judas as a betrayer, yet chosen and loved by Jesus, provides a contrast to the kind of sacrificial love we see from Jesus. What is true love? How can we love as Jesus loved?
