Jesus shows us that an act of sacrificial love ends the downward spiral of hate and violence. To turn the cheek, to bless, and to give generously are acts of sacrificial/vulnerable love that give evil nowhere to go. When Jesus teaches us to love our enemies he is giving us a completely upside-down way to live! This way of life in Gods Kingdom is a counter-culture to a world of anger.
