Low End Marauders episodes

  • #43: A$AP Fenty

For this episode, all three marauders are back and ready to talk about the biggest music story of 2022 (...so far) with Rihanna and Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky expecting their first child together after pictures of the two were spotted holding hands around New York and Rihanna sporting her pregnancy bump for the world to see. Even though the two are becoming first time parents, we ask each other if we'll be hearing new music from either before the year is up. Next up, in 1992, Snoop Dogg was signed to Death Row Records at the age of 22 and released one of the best debut albums in hip hop history under the imprint. Now, 30 years later, Snoop has become the owner of the label he was on. We speculate what's next for tha Doggfather (see what we did there?) now that he owns Death Row and we see and wonder what happens if one of the biggest artists in the world were to hypothetically sign with the label and we give our takes on what we want to see what Snoop will do during this year's Super Bowl Halftime Show plus we give our picks as well. After that, from one Super Bowl Halftime performer to another, Eminem in his first year of being eligible, is leading the fan vote into this year's Rock & Roll Half of Fame Class of 2022. Along with first year nominees, A Tribe Called Quest, we give our hot takes on if both acts should go into this year's class. After that, Hot 97's DJ Drewski took to Instagram to tell people that he's no longer playing gang/diss tracks on the radio due to him getting tired of seeing people losing their lives to gun/gang violence in the streets. We debate on if it's the smart thing to do and if other DJs should do the same. All this and laughs, ranked recent hip hop love songs and more!!

  • #42: Death by Criticism

On our Jackie Robinson/mid season finale episode, all the marauders are back to record and back to give their hot takes starting on Kayne West's jeen-yuhs Netflix documentary coming in February (16th) and Mr. West lashing out at directors Coodie & Chike and Netflix to let him in to have the final say and see on his upcoming documentary to (as of this recording) no avail. We ask if the upcoming four and a half hour documentary will be better with or without Kanye's hands on the film. Next up, social media keeps adding more gas to the fire that is Eminem finally getting a Verzuz battle in the potential future with some saying that the favorite to be his opponent would be Busta Rhymes. We ask if Busta is Em's best Verzuz opponent in the future or if someone else is lurking in the shadows waiting to beat Eminem. After that, lyrics has been used in courtrooms against musicians for decades when crimes are committed, Jay Z and Meek Mill want to change that narrative to present a bill in New York that prevents that from happening that has now being sent to the Senate floor. We discuss if music lyrics should or shouldn't be used against rappers/musicians in court. Later, Bow Wow voices his disappointment via Twitter by calling out fans after someone saying to name three of his songs if a person put a gun to their head. With him calling fans out, the fans have responded by clowning the rapper on social media. We voice our opinions on why people hate Bow Wow. All that plus, lots of laughs, J. Cole albums ranked and a lot more!

  • #41: Thot Sauce

On our Dirk Nowitzki episode of the show, Nick and Jared hold the fort down and kick this episode off with Drake's red hot rumor of him "allegedly" placing hot sauce inside of a condom after having sex with an Instagram model earlier in the week (Around January 12) and now the unnamed model is suing him for the damage. We call cap or no cap on the story and give our takes (and questions) on the whole situation between the two. Next, with Kanye having an interesting two weeks with now new girlfriend model/actress Julia Fox (Uncut Gems), and being in photos with Floyd Mayweather, Madonna, Antonio "You can't fire me, because I quit!" Brown, and punching a fan, we finally decide if Kanye and Kim are done for good and wonder what comes next between the two if they're done. After that, Nas & Hit-Boy's Magic album debuts on the Billboard 200 at a dismal number 30, (as of this episode is has moved up to 27) and we voice our concern on if King Disease's III which is allegedly coming out later this year if fans should be worried if the upcoming album will rank around the same position in the first week of sales. Later, The Weeknd came out with a new album DAWN FM which is projected to hit number 1 on the charts with most to all of the songs hitting number 1 on Spotify within 24 hours after its release. We ask if it is a better album than his last album After Hours and we say why Timbaland was wrong to say that DAWN FM was just as good as Michael Jackson's Thriller. All that plus LOTS of laughs, Kanye albums ranked and more!!!

  • #40: He's the Producer, I'm the Rapper
Happy New Year to you and yours! Nick & Jared are back with another (late but) new episode for 2022 and they kick things off with Big Sean's interview on N.O.R.E.'s Drink Champs podcast/show to give his side of the story after Kanye West came through weeks before. Sean Don discusses how angry he was with Kanye West's appearance and said that he's owed $6 Million from Kanye. The marauders ask if Big Sean can have a successful career in 2022 without Kanye after being signed to his label for 5 years. Next up, Jay Z breaks the internet with comments saying that he's untouchable if he were able to compete in a future Verzuz battle with anyone. We give out names on who would and wouldn't be great opponents if the live battle were to ever happen with Hov. After that, Nas gives hip hop a Christmas Eve present by releasing a new album, Magic, with tag team producer Hit-Boy (for the third time) to good reviews from fans. With a picture popping up with both Nas and Hit-Boy in the studio with Shaq and Penny Hardaway jerseys on we ask if they are the best rapper/producer combo today. All that, plus laughs, a permanent deleted One Gotta Go and a lot more!

  • #39: Travis Scott's Indifferent Interview
For our final episode of 2021, Nick and Jared hold it down and talk about Drake withdrawing his GRAMMY nominations for next month's show due to unknown reasons by him and his management team. We discuss if he didn't take his name off the ballots if he would have won or not and give our takes on why he made the decision. Next up, back on December 9th, Travis Scott finally broke his silence in an interview with Charlamange tha God on the entire Astroworld concert tragedy that happened last month (see Episode 37), to mixed reviews from fans and critics. We say if we believe his apology from the interview and say if the interview did more to fan the flames and if it threw more gas on the fire. Also, since it is our last episode of 2021, the marauders look back on moments that happened in the year that was from the Astroworld Tragedy, to Bones Thugs-N-Harmony and Three 6 Mafia coming to blows on stage, to the losses of DMX, Virgil Abloh, Biz Markie and many others, to Megan the Stallion and Master P graduating with degrees and Nick and Jared make BOLD predictions on what will happen in hip hop in 2022. All that plus, a hip hop album of the year One Gotta Go, shoutouts, album recommendations, laughs and more! Happy Holidays!!

  • #38: Keep It 2 Virgils (All's Fair in Love and Verzuz Battles)

Apologies for the delay! but we are here with another episode of the show and the marauders Nick and Jared are giving you a good show as with them starting the show off by paying their respects to hip hop fashion innovator Virgil Abloh who had died from cancer at the age of 41. The marauders discuss the celebs he worked with and the album covers he designed from Kanye West, Pusha T, 2 Chainz, Pop Smoke and many more and talk about our favorite album that was designed by him. Next up, GRAMMY season is approaching and we talk about 2022's best in rap categories and salute Jay Z for now becoming the most nominated person in GRAMMYs history with 83 nominations and surpassing the legendary Quincy Jones (80). We cast our votes on who we think should win at the 2022 GRAMMYs (January 31st, CBS). Later, the Three 6 Mafia & Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Verzuz battle (December 2) had people talking for all the wrong reasons when a fight broke out live on stage after the fourth round between the two groups. Luckily, it didn't last as both groups apologized for their actions and showed love to each other near the end of the telecast. We give our thoughts on the entire situation and ask if Verzuz battles should set rules and regulations in case something like that happens again. All that plus, albums recommendations, controversial albums to rank and a lot more!!

  • #37: Travis Scott's Tragic Kingdom

On this episode of the show, all three marauders are back to open the show about the sad news of frapper Young Dolph being shot and killed at a bakery in his hometown of Memphis, TN for a charity drive to give back to his hometown. The marauders pay their respects, give their favorite songs and give their takes on the entire situation that took place (November 17). We go from one tragedy to the next with Travis Scott's Astroworld Festival becoming one of the most deadliest music concerts in history with (as of this recording) 10 deaths due to crowd surging, a person injecting concertgoers with a needle, fans pleading Travis to stop the show and a lot more drama. With lawsuits mounting and refunds being handed out we discuss who is the blame of the deaths with some of our answers may surprising some of our listeners. Next up, we get into some entertainment as the marauders talk about Kanye West's Drink Champs part 2 video that made its round on YouTube. During the interview, West took shots at (now former?) collaborator Talib Kweli by saying that he don't f--- with his raps. We wonder if the interview will mean it'll be the last time the two will work with each other.  After that, DaBaby & DaniLeigh bring their personal problems to Instagram Live late Sunday (November 14) and early Monday morning (November 15) with cops being called and later resulting in DaniLeigh being arrested for assault. The marauders talk about if they can work things out for their 3 month old daughter. All that, plus One Gotta Go, album recommendations and a lot more!

  • #36: Simpin' Ain't Easy...

For this episode, Nick and Jared hold it down in Kyle's absence to discuss Kanye West's latest appearance on N.O.R.E.'s Drink Champs Podcast/Show and give their hot takes and thoughts about everything thing Kanye talked about from him saying that signing former labelmate Big Sean was the "worst thing he's ever done", being "half vaccinated", saying he prefers Kid Cudi over Travis Scott and even calling Big Sean and John Legend sellouts. We breakdown the conversation and talk about the takeaways during the segment. Next, the Will Smith/Jada Pinkett Smith saga continues as Jada continues to talk more and more about the open marriage life of her and Will to the point where 50 Cent has chimed in on a now deleted Instagram post telling Jada to stop putting their personal life out in the open. We debate on what Will should do (other than the obvious answer of divorce) or if he should do damage control on the whole situation with her. After that, Cardi B let loose on IG Live on the first, by saying that rappers were making "depressing" music and dying whereas she would like to hear turn up music and then would later go on to clarify (the next day) that she wanted a balance of technical skills and turn up music. The marauders say "depressing" hip hop music is a good thing for everyone to listen to. Later, The Game goes off on social media to talk about him not getting any respect from anyone from the past 18 years from ushering in the West Coast class of rappers (Kendrick Lamar, YG, Dom Kennedy, etc.) The marauders debate on if it's time to give him that respect after his hip hop contributions. All that plus we rank hustling songs, shoutouts and a lot more!!

  • #35: 50 Cent: One Album Wonder? (The Nycholas Kaepernick Episode)

For this episode of the podcast, the marauders are back and this time discussing Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's rap skills on Tech N9ne's new single "Face Off" to lots of laughs and the roasting of one marauder during the discussion. Find out what our thoughts are and who's the worst athlete to show off their rap skills. Next up, 50 Cent celebrates his second album The Massacre being apart of Insider's article of the 21 albums that have sold a million copies in its first week (source below).  Despite his second album going platinum six times (as of this episode), earning a Grammy nomination back in 2006, The Massacre received mixed reviews from critics. We ask if The Massacre is one of 50 Cent's best or worst albums in his catalog. After that, we dive back into more Joe Budden drama with him throwing shade at his former cohosts Rory and Mal after both men signed a new podcast venture with SiriusXM starting November 2nd worth $10 million. The marauders discuss if Joe regrets kicking his former friends off the show, if The Joe Budden Podcast is in danger and if we would listen if former Everyday Struggle cohost DJ Akademiks were to join the show. All that and LOTS of laughs, ranking the best of the worst and more!

  • #34: Are Music Videos (and its Creativity) Dying?

Kelly's recent conviction and being arrested and ask if we can listen to his music now with all the allegations that have come to light now that he faces 10 years to life in prison and ask if R.
