For our Scottie Pippen episode, both Nick and Jared hold it down and talk it about Nicki Minaj's headline making two weeks about her being hesitant about getting the vaccine for COVID-19, her cousin and him being impotent, her Twitter beef with MSNBC's Joy Ann Reid and her lashing out at BET for not having her song "Seeing Green" be nominated for a BET Hip Hop Award this year. We give our takes on if or if not the song should be nominated this year for the show and what Nicki can do in order to stay on top of the mountain in women's hip hop. Next up, we go on an award tour (Get it?), as we give our predictions on this year's BET Hip Hop Awards (airing October 5th) and we also debate on this year's VMAs that aired on the 12th and ask if it's too late for MTV to save the award show due to rating hitting all time lows. After that, we give our review on the Fat Joe/Ja Rule Verzuz and declare a winner and wonder if 50 Cent could hang with both Fat Joe and Ja Rule or anyone since he distanced himself from his collaborators and his old group G-Unit. Later, we give our thoughts and opinions on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time List with the surprises and shock songs that made it and where the songs rank after we reviewed their 500 Greatest Albums List (Episode 7). For this episode of the podcast, Nick and Kyle talk about two highly anticipated albums that dropped since our last episode: Kayne West's Donda and Drake's Certified Lover Boy. The marauders give our report card ratings on both albums and discuss what they loved and hated about both albums and also wonder if both men will put the bad blood behind them after Drake came for Kanye on his track "7am On Bridle Path". Next, after the unexpected death of actor Michael K. Williams (Omar from HBO's The Wire, Albert White from HBO's Boardwalk Empire) many took to social media to give their thoughts and condolences to the actor including 50 Cent who decided to take an alternative route and plug his show Raising Kanan while drew criticism from fans online. We discuss if 50's online post about the late actor was in bad taste or not. After that, RocNation member Memphis Bleek talks a potential Verzuz battle between his good friend Jay Z and his on again/off again frenemy Nas and tells everyone that Nas can't beat Jay Z in a 20 Round Verzuz matchup. We ask and talk about if Nas has enough songs in his arsenal to beat Jay Z after now doing the shows in front of crowds and if his catalog can hold up plus we give our early predictions on the upcoming Fat Joe vs. Ja Rule Verzuz on September 14th in New York. The marauders ask what is Kendrick's next move after he drops his album and then wonder if the label will still be strong without Kendrick? Next up, we speak on a potential TDE vs. Dreamville Verzuz battle after Dreamville label rapper Bas appearing on a Power 106 radio interview in LA and speaking about who the label should face if a Verzuz battle were able to happen. After that, with Lil Nas X having the best year of his career, he had a lot to say about skateboarding god Tony Hawk using his own blood to be mixed in with paint to sell future skateboards after calling him out due to Lil Nas X using the same tactic to sell shoes a few months ago (See Episode 21). We ask if Lil Nas X is right to call out Tony Hawk for using that same ploy and if people should be outraged on Tony Hawk using blood for skateboards. Later on, we had news on Drake reportedly dropping Certified Lover Boy on September 3 due to "feed interference" during Friday morning's (August 27) episode of ESPN's Sportscenter. With his last album Scorpion getting subpar reviews from fans and critics alike, we ask if Drake's next album is do or die especially considering since he is one of the best in the game today and is one of the highest selling rappers today. For this episode we kick things off with Kanye West teasing everyone for the release of his album DONDA only to not release the album (again). We give our takes on if we should be excited for his album despite the pump fake from him again and find out who out of the three marauders isn't that excited for the album. Next, with the Lupe & Royce Show sadly coming to an end with what started as a friendly spat between two rappers on who is the best has evolved into a personal war of words with the two Midwest rappers exchanging diss tracks on one another. We declare who came out the winner of the two diss tracks that came out and if we can see both Lupe Fiasco & Royce da 5'9" can and will work together again. Plus DaBaby is under a lot scrutiny due to some controversial statements he made during his Rolling Loud set in Miami which had a lot of people mad from collaborators to rappers to fans all coming for the North Carolina rapper. The marauders play the clip of what he said and say if he went too far with his statement and if his career can recover after what he said. Also on August 1, 2021, MTV will celebrate its 40th anniversary of being on the air. Despite it's rocky relationship with black artists getting on the network, MTV has given some great hip hop moments and we say what some  our personal favorites are. On our second season premiere of the show, we dive into Tyler, the Creator's new album "CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST" and we give our thoughts on if his album is the best hip hop album of 2021 and why you should or shouldn't listen to it as well as us discussing his BET Awards performance and the award show itself and plus the marauders discuss what they liked and didn't liked from the live telecast.
