A child was stabbed by his older sister and her the mother of the older sister believes that her ADHD medication was to blame for this. The mother believes that the ADHD medication caused a psychosis/psychotic break that led to this tragic incident. Does this mean that ADHD medication can create killers? Do stimulants make one violent? Should children be on something so dangerous? We are not here to fear monger nor scapegoat, we are here to discuss ADHD medication comprehensively and with empathy. So now we’re scamming ADHDers…We’re not only making it impossible for them to get a diagnosis or prescriptions for their meds but we’re telling them that if they want those things, they must pay ridiculous fraudulent fees to move up on the waiting list. I am shocked and appalled. Today we’re talking about the ABC article “ADHD clinics capitalise on diagnosis explosion, with some charging up to $3,000 and paying doctors up to $900,000 a year”. We talk ADHD access, inequality, and the warped perception we have of ADHD and how that is hindering ADHD support and progress. ADHD is not aways sunshine and rainbows, it is first and foremost a disorder affecting many and we deserve support.
