Work (busy, but scraped through). Fifth beach swim day in a row. Feels like temp was 10° but it wasn’t too bad in the water. Hair on fleek. New watch band arrived. Ate too much chocolate and junk. Ugh! M: 4. E: 4.

Work. Finished a couple jobs. Meeting went ok. Was on a ‘bad albums’ kick - Second Coming, Squeeze, Gay Dad, etc. Interesting. Didn’t eat all day until after 5. Bloody nose. Mosquito bites are all over me and itchy as hell. Went for a beach swim (fourth consecutive day). Water was warm as hell. Had the beach to myself. I should get a buoy and a waterproof pouch so I can bring my phone and valuables out to where I’m wading. Got a bit zen out there today. Went for a ride. Had a bath with lots of dettol - for the bloody mosquito bites. Discovered and listened to too much Seeing Red podcast. Feeling a bit spooked. Work. Ugh. Nephews visited for icy poles in the afternoon. I made [nephew] a jackfruit sandwich that had tomato in it. [nephew] said that he liked the tomato even though he thought he didn’t like tomato at all. He proudly showed off eating a slice of tomato to his mum. Very cool and hopefully a lesson will have been learned - try things sometimes, even if you don’t think you’ll like it. [older relative] took a fall and had to go to hospital. Bit sad to think about. But that’s life, I suppose. She’ll be ‘right. Went for a swim. Hat trick of beach swims each day. Huzzah. I can actually see how people could find swimming in the ocean therapeutic. Got out of bed and went for a coffee and a beachy with [nephew]. I didn’t have a mask and thought I needed one to go into the cafe. I sent [nephew] in with the coffee order on my notes app and my card to pay. Like a first errand mission. Got to get these kids starting to do more stuff, rather than being mollycoddled or whatever. They’re kids - not babies! He did well. He’s a great guy! Work. Nice to just be me and my work wife today, with not much messaging to do with the whole team. Could have got more organising done today but yolo I guess. Filled up my motorcycle. Grateful for the smell of petrol. Great weather today. Clear sky, warm. Went to the beach. Second sea swim in as many days. And with a forecasted high of 30° tomorrow, I wouldn’t be shocked if I ended up making it a hat-trick! Finished picking up the cuttings from my guerrilla weeding down at the river. Getting to the time of year for pretty dusks with long gradients in the skies. Not too bad of a day. When I leave my work, I think I’ll interview for someone for who would like the job so much that having it and doing that job on a day like today would make their day better. For me, having and doing the job made my day today slightly worse I think. A couple of years ago I would be working a lot harder and doing extra hours to tweak things and get things done on time and improve things. I’m not feeling like doing that at all at the moment. M: 5. Chores. Bunnings. Got a tight rope. Mowed the long grass on the nature strip right back. Took ages and I had to get pretty wild and dangerous with the lawnmower, but the pay-off was worth it. Took some found bullets into the cop shop to have them disposed of. More chores. Went for a body board at the beach with mum. Was fun! Caught a couple waves. A couple of times, mum and I caught the same wave. Was good surf. Connecting with nature is very good for mental health. And the sea takes negative ions from the body, so that was good!Visited the nephews - had a couple laughs with them. M: 7. E: 7. 🥰🔥😎😇😍😁

Parkrun with mum, Leanne and Paul. Nice weather in the morning. Lots of coffee. Macca’s. Wandering around. Mowed the lawns. Watched the cows. More walking. Pottered around. Had some bubblegum flavoured soda pop. Shapes and French onion dip for dinner. Finished the Beatles Get Back. Nice long day with plenty of solitude. M: 4. E: 5.5. 😐😆🙂

Work. Not too bad. Paddock got mowed. And the cows went bananas. Fish n chips with mum. Had mustard with my fish n chips. Wonder if I’m the first person to do that. New Covid variant is popping off in South Africa. M: 3. E: 3. 😐🙂😑

Work. Day went quick. Crumby vibe. Roasted veg for lunch. Very tasty. Took the green bin down to the area I had weeded for to collect all the grass and weeds I left piled on the ground there. Saw a bloody big frog and a bloody big mouse amongst the weeds I was picking up - and thought best to leave before I next saw a bloody big snake! Toggled a couple of settings for my AirPods Max - neat. The Beatles Get Back part 1 dropped. Hmm. Bed. M: 2.5. E: 2.5. 😐😑😔

Work. Staffing issue. Sweated up a bit in a meeting. Not very nice. God I’m disorganised. I’m going to get in big doo-doo over it I reckon. Had dinner at the Cally with mum. Walk with mum and Ash. Bit of a goss. Saw this big weird ship on the horizon. Could be the Pong Su incident all over again. I’m feeling so unfit. Can’t be bothered exercising properly though. Ugh. M: 3. E: 3. 😐😓😴😑🙂

Dropped by birthday boy [nephew’s] before work. [Other nephew] gave me a big long cuddle. Cute. Work. Overdue on several projects - but apparently I don’t do any work until I’ve let pressure build and build and people are getting completely fucked over by me delivering it way too late. Why am I the way I am? Wish I would have done more work. Got some vicarious relief from my work wife getting a lot of work done and feeling like she had way less pressure on her. Must be nice. Lady on Twitter said “No offence, but you don't look very old.” Are you kidding me? If anything I take that as a compliment! Avocado seed has sprung a root. I’ve moved two avocado seeds from the kitchen into a little greenhouse type environment. I think they’ll take off in there. Was a warm day. Walked to the beach in shorts, hoping for a paddle, but the weather turned very suddenly and went stormy. Did calligraphy. Snacks for dinner. Watching The Shrink Next Door on Apple TV+. Very good.
