As we wind down our Family Time activities for this school year, we're ending on social awareness. Specifically, we're talking about altruism.

Altruism is central to a life of peace and purpose.

Put good into the world. Lift others up.

We have to create a picture of the things we want. We experience stress when our pictures don't match our realities. We might need to change our behaviors to bring our pictures to life. Sometimes, we have to change the picture, but it all starts with visualization.

It's not all about the final destination. It's about finding the right path and understanding all things are connected.

It's important to monitor and manage our emotions, and there are things we can do to change our states.

We've been talking factors that contribute to self-efficacy. This week, we're looking at how our physical, mental, and emotional states impact our self-efficacy.

Building self-efficacy can be difficult. It helps to have other people in our corners, and supporting others is one of the greatest gifts we can give. That's social persuasion.

The most significant journeys of our lives are unending roads.

We like beginnings and ends. We like to cross things off lists, but our passions and purpose don't turn off. Those things are always there.

The paths might be rocky, but all we have to do is walk them.

As we revisit self-awareness, we're going to spend some time focusing on self-efficacy. We'll start by examining our mastery experiences.

We often put the program before the purpose. We put aesthetics before practicality. We put form before function.

We need to turn things around. We need to put our dreams, our purpose, our beliefs at the centers of our lives; and we need to build from there.

Last week, we discussed the potential pitfalls of groupthink. By my estimation, diversity is the cure for dangerous groupthink. Diverse ideas and perspectives can fuel our creativity, support our growth, and help us solidify our own beliefs.
