This week Lulu was away on “Puppet Camp” as she’s just been cast in Avenue Q; the not quite child-friendly puppet show coming to Melbourne soon. Michael was joined by special guest host Kyle Minall who decided to wear his ugly shoes (well, that was the consensus).

Our guests this week are Pamela Rabe who you might recognise as The Freak/Joan Ferguson from Wentworth (right now she’s an inmate) who is also currently playing Amanda Wingfield in “The Glass Menagerie” at The Malthouse Theatre until June 5.

The wonderfully bubbly Rafael Bonachela joins us to talk about the new Sydney Dance Company show “Counter Move” at the MTC until June 4.

Amongst all the hijinks, there was a “Dolly-Off” between Kyle and Michael, they talked about the Trumps not passing wind in front of each other (as you do), talk about Daniel Andrews’ apology, the San Diego Gay Men’s Choir public let down, plus a new naked restaurant idea for Melbourne.

Every week there’s always something new going on and this week was no exception. There was whole lot of emotions.

Tyler Coppin from Little Shop Of Horrors joined us (funny), Lulu got talking about moving out of her family home (sad), the dance version of “My Heart Will Go On” from Celine Dion (confusion), an impending trip to Bali and some timely weather advice (happy, then sad), Dirk Hoult came in to talk about his new play “The Man Of Mode” (starts soon, happy) and special guest Samuel Johnson came in with his passion and energy to talk about Love Your Sister, his effort to raise $10 million for breast cancer awareness, Molly and more (very happy).

What a bumper show! Apart from the usual malarkey, we had Mark Vincent and Marina Prior join us to showcase their new duets album “Together”.  Next, Trevor Ashley and Hilary Cole (director and star respectively) of Heathers The Musical (ends May 22).

The Desperettes dropped in for a song and our favourite songstress Kate Ceberano spent some quality time talking about her career, health and new best-of album “Anthology” (it’s gone top 10 already). Check it all out in the special extended edition of the Lulu And Michael podcast.

Michael returned from his short battery recharge in Darwin only to come down with a small case of man flu.

Lulu and Michael are joined by John Sheedy, the new CEO of TheatreWorks, Zoy Frangos from musical “Dogfight”, Gary Abrahams drops in to talk about directing a new show “Resident Alien” about Quentin Crisp and starring Paul Capsis, plus Daniel Tobias opens up about his experience with cancer and the new show he’s doing, “The Orchid And The Crow” to explore it.

Not only that, we dig into the Montague Street Bridge (or at least the 2 new drivers who hit it), the celebrities who will leave the US  if Donald Trump wins the presidency, running into old friends who don’t remember you and find out what Enya is up to these days.

We talked about Donald Trump, dating apps, Pistol & Boo, plus special guests Luigi Lucenti from “Tick Tick Boom“, Ella Caldwell from Red Stitch Theatre to talk about “Playlist” and new play “The River” and filmmakers Nickolas Bird and Eleanor Sharpe who have produced a wonderful documentary called “Remembering The Man“, which is the real story of Tim Conigrave and John Caleo, from which came the movie “Holding The Man” (and the book).

Comedian and producer Glynn Nicholas is in to talk Eurovision and his new show “Song Contest – The ALMOST Eurovision Experience” which runs from 1 April until May at Alex Theatre, St Kilda.

The gorgeous Gina Liano came in to wow us with her looks, talk about her new fragrance and dish some interesting gossip about The Real Housewives Of Melbourne (Sundays 8:30pm on Arena on Foxtel)

Finally, we were joined by Juan Vesuvius from his Melbourne International Comedy Festival show “Calypso Nights: Juan Too?“

Our favourite guest was the very adorable Bailey the staffy cross who came in with his carers and Marisa from Second Chance Animal Rescue. Bailey has an aggressive form of cancer which has shortened his lifespan, so he’s got a bucket list which is halfway done. One of those items was to join a radio show for a day. He got lots of snuggles, pats and belly rubs and had a great time.
