With Petra Silva (Fine Art: Bath Spa Uni) we spoke about her performance practice. The importance of site and how she responds to her surroundings. The new project she is currently working on called “Reminders” is something she started in lockdown and she explains how this specific series of works help her deal with the current situation.

With Yihang Yuan (Nickname: Roy) (Fine Art: Bath Spa Uni) we spoke about the importance of location to the making of his artworks. We focused our discussions on the street performances he carried out in Beijing and London. He discusses his way of making interventions around Bath, which is where he is experiencing the lockdown and a new project called “Space Series” which he is planning for the future.

With Julia Pomeroy (Fine Art: Leeds Arts Uni) we spoke about her interest in depicting the mondain through painting. As Julia depicts indoor, domestic environments, we discussed how the current situation makes her reconsider the relevance and meaning of her paintings. She also shares with us her current methods to make work, such as digital painting techniques.

With Femke Henzen (Fine Art: Bath Spa Uni) we spoke about her installation and digital media artworks. Through the discussion of some of her specific projects we explored the way the lockdown is affecting her practice and the way our relationship with “the screen” and the digital is currently changing.

With Caroline Vitzthum (Contemporary Arts Practice: Bath Spa Uni) we spoke about her fascination towards witchcraft, mysticism, ancient symbolism and nature and how she is exploring these during lockdown. We discussed the way she exhibited her multimedia artworks in particular exhibition spaces including her own living room and her project The Viennese Salon and how these have also been affected by the current social distancing situation.

With Lea Rose Kara (Fine Art: Bath Spa Uni) we spoke about sculpture, photography, collaboration and her mentoring experiences abroad, and how these have been affected by the lockdown.
