In this episode of Real Physician Reacts let's talk about the recent mass shooting that occurred at Highland Park in Illinois by Robert Crimo III and the continued Public Health crisis that gun violence has become here in this country.
In a country where gun violence continues to be on the rise, especially since the pandemic began with more than 45,000 Americans dying by a gun in 2020, a 15% increase over 2019, and over a 40% increase from 2010. Despite U.S. civilians owning more than double the number of firearms per resident as the next highest country, the United States can not seem to curtail this growing issue.

This week's episode of Lunch and Learn with Dr. Berry comes fresh off the heat heels of the 2022 Autism in Black conference. I am giving a mini recap of the said event as well as briefly discussing the topic of black fathers raising autistic children. I had the amazing opportunity to give a closing keynote presentation on day 1 of the conference and I spoke about the importance of Black fathers in the lives of their Autistic children.
As a father of two Autistic children and husband of an Autistic spouse, I have had the unique experience to balance out the level of care and responsibilities required to do the job but I am aware that without great support, Black fathers are unlikely to succeed as a whole.
The following topics will be covered in today's episode 226:

In this week's Lunch and Learn with Dr. Berry podcast, we talk about COVID-19 and, more especially, an updated COVID-19 vaccine for kids. After several delays, extremely young children such as newborns, toddlers, and preschoolers are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. More specifically, the FDA has approved the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines for children between the ages of 6 months and 5 years. Parents all throughout the nation have been awaiting this decision because this is the last age group that has been left unprotected when the pandemic first began.
With over 5.7 million of the 13+ million reported instances of COVID-19 occurring this year alone, parents, caregivers, and medical professionals have been crying out for assistance, and it has now been granted.
Today, I'll cover a wide range of topics that will inform us. Here is a list of the main topics that will be discussed;

In this week's episode of Lunch and Learn with Dr. Berry, let's discuss breaking out of your comfort zone. After multiple conversations with family, friends, and even patients, I believe it is necessary to discuss the importance of stepping outside of your comfort zone, particularly as we approach the halfway point of the year.
So this was a combination of things and situations that I encountered over the last week, and I realized that I hadn't done a business/medicine/podcast in a minute, so I said, "Let's bring another one back." So today, we are going to talk about why the comfort zone is called the danger zone because it's become a problem for a lot of individuals, almost like quicksand.
Episode 223 will discuss the following:
-Looking back at the first half of the year -What is the comfort zone -Why it's hard to leave -How do we get out of the comfort zone
Join me in today's audio episode as we discuss what the comfort zone is, why I consider it a danger zone for many individuals, and why leaving it is so difficult.

Welcome to a bonus episode here on the Lunch and Learn with Berry Podcast.
Every week I go live on my youtube channel and when I have topics that I know my podcast audience needs to hear I am going to release the audio clips here on the podcast as well.
On this episode of Real Physician Reacts I am discussing the recent tulsa mass shoowing which resulted in two physicians, a receptionist and patient ended up murdered.
We are also going to talk about violence against health care workers. I would love to say that many of you should be surprised by the level of violence that health care workers endure but if you turned on the news at all during this pandemic you have seen what patients and even non patients will do against healthcare workers when they are trying to save them from a deadly viral disease.
