The new TygerValley Mammography Centre is the first stand-alone centre of its kind in this region, and is dedicated to early detection of breast cancer and other female health challenges.  It opened its doors about 2 weeks ago – it’s my pleasure to have with us Dr Salomine Theron who is the branch manager.

Fiona Meijer is the creator of a book called RISE – 52 Ou Kaapse Weg sunrises.  As the title suggest, it’s a collection of photos of the sun rising over Ou Kaapse Weg.  But it’s also much more than that.

Young Artist Academy Awards – the Youth Oscars, if you like - and has just been nominated in the category for Leading Youth Artist in the Feature Film category. It’s the first time a South African has ever been recognized in these nominations – previous winners include the likes of Leonardo di Caprio and Scarlett Johannsen in some of their earliest roles
It’s my great pleasure to welcome Stellenbosch resident and Youth Oscar nominee Caleb Payne to the studio

It’s a day of great celebrations in Mitchells Plain today as the community formally welcomes the development of a new art centre at Portlands Primary School, by showcasing the work of some of its young artists.  The centre is the result of a 7-year effort by community activist Mark Jeneker, to bring creative education to the local kids.  It has been made possible through collaboration with the NGO Baz Art.
