"Wakefield returned with five Belgian sheepdogs. These are herding dogs. Big, but not super big, very smart, reputedly very easy to train. The dogs, Nogi or Nogi, Max, Donna, lady, and an Airedale named Jim, who was apparently working undercover, all trained at a mansion in Fort Washington Park, Manhattan, which was dubbed America's first police dog college. Early training emphasized positive reinforcement, and they learned commands. Search, attack, and down."
