Lutz Get Down to Business

We are beyond excited to bring you Lutz Get Down to Business podcast’s inaugural interview guest!! We had the wonderful opportunity of spending some time talking to Camden Pulkinen - US National Team Member, 2018 US Junior National Champion, and a fan fave. We ask Camden about this season and next; discuss music, choreography, and what artistry means to him; and finish on some fun ‘rapid-fire’ questions that were certainly NOT done in a rapid-fire manner.

This probably is our FAVORITE thing we have done to date, and we really hope that everyone enjoys this as much as we did!

P.S. We will post the video footage of this interview on our YouTube channel, so head on over there as well if you want to see our faces!

Our final event recap of the season is here! Much like WTT, this episode was just a lot of Claudia and Joce having fun and talking about whatever came to mind. (We talked for MUCH longer than we expected too; but don’t worry, timestamps are below!!).

We analysed each team’s Opening Ceremony entrances, picked apart the Kiss & Cry shenanigans, and generally just mused about the skaters and their programs - some of which we have seen multiple times this season, and others which were fresh and new. Our own Kiss & Cry segment is of course filled with the drama that has come from the end of the season, featuring the battle of Hanyu Yuzuru vs quad axel, Team Tutberidze shenanigans, and a comeback that has created shock waves throughout the skating community.

This Worlds 2021 Gala/World Team Trophy Selections/Olympics Spot discussion episode may be the most fun we’ve ever had on the pod! Seriously, it was 4:30am and we were laughing so hard.

We talked about the emotional significance of Guignard and Fabbri’s 7+3 program, counted the number of skaters in Keegan Messing-esque cowboy costumes, and Claudia took imaginary shots for every all-black gala costume. We also marveled at Yuzuru Hanyu’s program and fought about our favorite Nathan Chen program. (Rocketman and Caravan are superior - can you tell who wrote this caption??) Finally, we both became makeshift Abby Lee Millers (except not, because she’s awful) and made Dance Moms analogies and pyramids for the entirety of the episode.

You won’t wanna miss this episode, although there’s a possibility Claudia missed the entire thing from the number of imaginary shots she took.

It’s our last 2021 World Figure Skating Championships recap episode! (Well, we will be uploading a Gala/World Team Trophy/Olympics spots discussion soon, but besides that). In this recap of the Ice Dance event, we absolutely screamed for Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier’s bronze medal and waved a 20ft Canadian flag in our minds, not unlike Keegan Messing in the audience. We also cried a river over some highly sus judging scores and talked (some more, again) about Greatest Showman programs. And of course a shoutout to not having to listen to “My Heart Belongs to Daddy” again! Always a relief.

Get ready to have your ears talked off, because this Worlds Men recap episode is our longest one yet - but for good reason! There was SO much to discuss especially when we are so invested in so many of the men! We chat about sageing the cursed ice, cry a ton more for our favourites who had rough skates, and cry even more for the skaters whose amazing performances gave us the feels. Shout outs a plenty also go out the amazing commentary from Mark Hanretty, the costumes that had color wheel decisions we at the pod don’t agree with, and of course we shouted out the tutber_house TikTok account.

Ladies, oh ladies. Always bringing the drama. Probably the most highly anticipated event at 2021 Worlds, we recap the main battle between the Russian wonderkids - Anna Shcherbakova, Alexandra Trusova, and Elizaveta Tuktamysheva - and the Japanese superstars - Rika Kihira, Kaori Sakamoto, and Satoko Miyahara. We cry some more tears (see a trend starting to form?) over our favourites who had a bad week, and yell with pride for our favourites who had a great week! Don’t worry, we definitely also touched on the judges, and with how many hands they give out their GOEs and PCS. Overall, this episode is us still reeling from what happened in the Ladies event, and trying to collect our thoughts as best we can - don’t hold your hopes too high!! :D

Welcome to the first of our 2021 World Figure Skating Championships recaps! In this episode, we will be discussing what went down in the Pairs event, all the surprises, inspirations, and how Murphy’s law started the theme of us crying for our favourites at Worlds. We express our utter joy at the return of Sui Wenjing & Han Cong to competition ice this season, chat about the state of American pairs, and of course, give our thoughts on the super tight race between the Russian pairs teams.

After a brief hiatus, we are back with our 2021 ISU World Figure Skating Championships preview episode! We cover some random news, the anticipated arrival of athletes, and what the COVID bubble really means. It wouldn’t be a preview episode without podium predictions (and a fun bet over sour candy)! It was a very up and down weekend in American pairs, with Alexa Knierim and Brandon Frazier winning their first gold medal as a team, while our silver medalists Jessica Calalang and Brian Johnson, as well as our bronze medalists Ashley Cain-Gribble and Tim LeDuc were battling for second place.

In dance, it was all down to Madison Chock and Evan Bates versus Madison Hubbell and Zach Donohue for the gold. Kaitlin Hawayek and Jean-Luc Baker brought everything to the table from Uniqlo basics to mom’s hand sewn Spongebob masks.

This episode is straight fire. We started with 5 time gold medalist Nathan Chen with a bit of a disappointing weekend, but our socks were knocked right off by Jason Brown and his breathtaking Sinnerman program.

We cried to Mitchell Friess’s 'Dear Evan Hansen' program, talked about how suitable the Vincent program is for Vincent Zhou, and really got chaotic with Javier Fernandez in Boots and our favorite flat audience member, Nathan Chamster. We’re just sayin’ - you’ll have to listen to find out!
