On my mat this week I focused on each movement being fully supported by the breath. It was my intention to make sure that every single asana was born out of the breath. I started to visualize my breathe as the instigator, the driving force, the inspiration for each movement. My movements began to feel like they were flowing out, pouring forth, supported, rooted, and sustainable. In the same way that by just breathing first and then moving we can learn to fully support and enjoy our bodies, our flow, and our practice on the mat, we can also learn how to do this off the mat! Before we move through each task or interaction we can first breathe in thoughts and feelings that feel good! Feeling good first and then working, creating, interacting, parenting. The actions in our day can begin to flow from a knowing of infinite well-being, joy, and love.
Welcome to The Edge Podcast. I'm Maggie Pounds, a yoga teacher and joy facilitator. May this week’s theme anchor and guide your days moving forward. May you weave the practices I share into your yoga practice and daily life, allowing you to truly discover what it means to live a life of connection to who and what you really are both on and off your yoga mat.
