I was taken back on this show when I thought we was going to have an interview with Amanda whom I have known as a property developer but from as early years when she was a child. Amanda's granny - now my new legend, had a property portfolio that she had in a Trust - like back then... respect to her! Amanda grew up in the family with her granny collecting rent - talk about passive income from a young age.
Amanda's business is also about passive income, she learnt this by being an accountant whilst in varsity and now she develops properties and to sell and recycle the money but mainly for passive income.

There are not so many people I know that would listen to their burning desires and leave their nice job paying job to start an academy were students do not even pay for the education. In this episode I speak to Nigel, whose background comes from the Cape flats and rose the corporate ladder to manage billions of asset base. This was not satisfactory to him as he wanted to see more people of colour participate in the property ownership. Nigel is the CEO of Enterprise Development Property Fund, an academy that is designed to help people of colour to teach them around all spheres of property from industrial, investing, facility management etc...
Nigel is not only passionate about educating the previously disadvantage, he is a family man and a active investor in his own right.
THE DREAM - Change the landscape of property ownership of SA We spoke about many things, how rich people do deals and think. We covered the good and bad of property.

I meet up with Jeff not so long along and I could see he was hungry. I made the mistake of sharing my mobile number with Jeff and from there on, he has been relentless in wanting to learn and attending networking sessions. I remembered when he got his first deal which we talk about in this episode. Jeff was raised in the rural area with his mother who was a domestic worker and he is the first in his family to have a job in town and now he supports his mother and siblings back home.
Jeff does property part time whilst being a mechanical engineer full time. We touched on may topics, enjoy.
My take away in this episode is: - If you do not know ask - try to model from people who are doing what you are wanting to do - your background should not hold you back

In this episode I meet up with two brothers, Neo and Lebo founders of Nong Wealth who are making deals and focusing on educating others in Soweto. Lebo's mindset was changed forever when he read Rich Dad Poor Dad from Robert Kiyosaki when he was only grade 11 and he went on pursued his brother about property and since then they have been pushing hard in learning from all sorts of people and implementing on the ground.
I give the boys a thumbs up as they discussed two deals one that didn't work and they was great learning from it. The other one was a good deal and they made good money. This is one of the podcast were I had fun and the guys were just real. Respect to the team!

Witness started off is journey at a young age of 19 when his mother gave him mandate to manage their 1st tenants in Thembisa to manage and own just below 200 tenants. His game changed when he was on honeymoon and was exposed to a different experience of offering accommodation. Marisia Robus is the only female practicing ITC Certified Roof Inspector in the country. Across SA their are only two females who are certified. Not only is she certified and is still practicing, she also practice with her father who is also certified but a super veteran in the industry. Marisia's father, Albert van Wyk is the author of book Proud Home Owner a book that has become a go to for me as I am not a maintenance guy by nature. Albert wrote the book from his wealthy of knowledge he built from starting his construction company in 1973, which did well to a point were some of his houses he built were featured on the TV program “Top Billing”.
Marisia has always been passionate about property from a young age but her father used to think she was better off not being on construction sites. Times have changed and she now runs the business with her father who is semi-retired and she loves her practice. Our conversations covered her relationship with her father, as a father, as a business partner and as her mentor to her breaking barres of gender biases and to celebrate her work in the property inspections industry in SA.
My take away after our chat in this episode is:
- No matter who you are, gender or race anyone can do anything, if you set your mind on it
