  • maDCap with Chris Richards, musician & critic
"It takes one to know one" is a common refrain on the playground, but it also applies to the career of Chris Richards, a music critic who was once on the other side of the curtain as part of the successful band "Q and Not U." Today, maDCap visits with Chris Richards in the game room of his employer, The Washington Post, to discuss his upbringing, his career, and his take on the meaning of music. Richards' current musical project is a duo with John Davis called 'Paint Branch' (@paintbranch) and his writing appears often in the Washington Post Style section.
This interview was conducted in July 2013.

  • maDCap with Jessie Ware & Clinton Yates
As the old saying goes, 'don't judge a book by it's cover.' Jessie Ware certainly possesses a great beauty and a divine voice, but don't let the sweet and sultry veneer fool you, for she can crack jokes and break balls with the best of them. Today we feature the infectious music, personality, and wit of this English singer/songwriter whose debut album 'Devotion' garnered fans around the world and well-deserved acclaim. Then, we'll speak with one of our favorite District-based journalists, Clinton Yates, on the bubbling political scandal engulfing the current mayoral race. He'll cover the shady dealings of Jeffrey Thompson AKA "Uncle Earl," illuminate the Vincent-quality 'Gray areas' of this conflagration, and discuss his own life in our ever-changing hometown.

  • maDCap with Soul Clap & Alyona Minkovski
The soul is a mysterious and eminently powerful entity, and when it deigns to make itself heard, it's advisable to lend an ear. Soul Clap is a duo comprised of Charlie Levine & Eli Goldstein, originally from Massachusetts, now spreading their hip-hop tinged disco vibes around the world through a partnership with Wolf + Lamb records. David Ross was lucky enough to spend time with these producers, DJs, podcasters and all around visionary musical spirits. Then, we'll hear from the first guest who ever graced this program with her presence, Alyona Minkovski of Huffington Post Live. She tells us about tindering at the Sochi Olympics and gives her take on the political upheaval in Ukraine and the Russian incursion into Crimea.

  • maDCap with Carl Jones of Black Dynamite
We at maDCap believe in honoring African Americans at all times, but we view the proposition of Black History Month with a skeptical eye. Confining Black History to February not only relegates African American history to the shortest month of the year, but it may serve to justify a lack of attention during the rest of the year. Despite our misgivings, today we discuss one of the baddest Black characters on television. Our guest is Carl Jones, the creator and executive producer of Black Dynamite on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. We will also hear the voices of prominent African Americans on the topic of Black History Month, and finally, we’re treated to a commentary in the form of an airing of grievances from our own David Ross.
Season 2 of Black Dynamite on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim premieres in Summer of 2014.
