 Today, I'm excited to welcome holistic career coach Marla Tseng back onto the show. Marla was one of my first guests and continues to be one of my most downloaded episodes. Since we last spoke, Marla has expanded her business And by adding human design, she combines the wisdom of astrology and human design into her coaching.

And we are going to talk about it all today. She's even dug into a theme specifically for this show. And we're going to look at human design profiles by choosing Some musicians that have inspired me and that hopefully you will be familiar with. So she went about researching each of their charts, which will help us see how the profiles come to life in personalities of people that we all might know and be familiar with.

I think it's a really thoughtful and insightful way to learn about it. And I'm excited to welcome back Marla.

I’m talking with my good friend Sarah Bonsignore. We met at a songwriting retreat in the Pocono Mountains in 2017. We bonded over boy mom stuff and wine and so much laughter as you’ll hear in our conversation today. We just started a a duo called The Magnolia Janes and are currently recording our debut album but I’m gonna tell you a bit about Sarah because she’s done so much musically and has been a great inspiration for me. Sarah is a South African born American living in Nashville, a classically trained pianist and singer, songwriter, teacher, producer, sync artist, conductor, arranger, composer, sometimes cook, wannabe organic farmer, wife, sister, and mom of three boys.

Sarah can be found teaching piano and musicianship for ages 3-100 and beyond at her school  Sing Play Studios. She creates educational resources for her students and beyond, including piano repertoire books for all levels and books on ear training. She was on the faculty of two private schools in NY for almost 20 years, directing choirs, musical theater, teaching AP music theory, songwriting and advising students. Sarah creates and produces music for sync, and has secured over 40 placements for her piano instrumentals and songs on networks including Netflix, CBS and Oxygen… and we are talking about it all. Today I’m talking with Nashville-based singer-songwriter Summerlyn Powers. Her career began at 11 years old when she released the single “Alabama Kinda Girl” which went on to become an anthem of sorts within her home state. The accompanying music video features musical mentor Pam Tillis. Now a decade later, Summerlyn is living in Nashville and recently graduated from Belmont University with a degree in songwriting, and is set to release her five-song EP, The Hive,  October 6. Her stories of loss, love, faith, and friendship meld “the fun and the groove” of the southern rock she heard growing up in Fairhope, Alabama.
