The State Attorney’s office announced it will seek the death penalty in Stephan Sterns’ case. 

As of now, he’s charged with Madeline’s murder, along with 60 other counts. Jennifer has not been charged with any crimes, but the Attorney’s office seems to be leaving the door open. 

Stephan’s trial is currently slated for mid-July 2024.
