  • S1 EP11 - Who Are You Really?

In this week's episode we discuss the very challenging issue of shame messages and what shame says about who we are and how we ought to combat a lot of these issues and begin to uproot many of these lies that we've tolerated for too long in our lives.  I also go into a little more backstory behind my own triggers and I how overcame some of those lies!  Finally, we also discuss the spiral of shame and what brings us down to a point where we can be at-risk of hitting rock bottom.  We also address the some of the false identities that we have a tendency to take on in our evasion of dealing with our issues.

  • S1 EP10 - How to Apologize and Make Things Right

In this episode, we take some time to initially assess what sort of damage we've done as addicts and what kind of damage we have received from our past and traumas.  We also talk about making direct amends and indirect amends.  We further dove into what are good motives and bad/poor motives for apologizing and wanting to make amends.  Forgiveness is also discussed and the various people we need to forgive; not for their benefit, but for ours!  Lastly, we discussed what it means to be in continual amends and making things right in our journey for sobriety and wellness.

  • S1 EP09 - Internal vs. External Triggers

In this episode this week, we discuss why it is so important to understand your triggers and why they may be happening.  We dive deeper into understanding the various forms of internal as well as external triggers and we also discuss the need to be real and vulnerable with what you're feeling and processing in order to "embrace the suck."  In doing, so we can process things more logically and even reject the ideas of turning to self-destructive behaviors that keep us addicted as opposed to striving for sobriety and healing!  I have also included an article that is worth the read about tears and why tears literally help us to detox and heal!

  • S1 EP07 - Healing the Hurt and Pain (Part 2)

This week we continued to discuss healing through the hurts and pains of our past.  We discussed how being known and loved go together, how kids are great observers and terrible interpreters, how we perceive people through our trauma lens; to include our Heavenly Father, and more on family wounds!  Sometimes our past traumas and family wounds produce fear, anger, and shame and we discuss what that looks like in our own lives.  And as promised, here are the links below.  Remember to please Rate and Review these episodes.  It would help a ton and be sure to also share this episode if you think a family member or loved one could benefit from hearing this!

  • S1 EP04 - Are You Ready to Get Well?

In today's episode we ask ourselves some pretty challenging questions about the sincerity of whether we want sobriety for ourselves.  We need to be real and honest of who we are doing this for!  Are we content with our situation or condition?  If so, why are we content and why would we choose to not get better?  Do we fear a life of freedom from our behavior?  Could it be that our negative self-talks or "stinky thinking" keep us in our situation or condition rather than heal and move on!  Let's choose to get to work and choose sobriety for ourselves another day while also having grace with ourselves and the mistakes we may occasionally make in recovery!

  • S1 EP03 - Wounds and Chains - Step 1 to Addiction Recovery

In this episode we talk about better defining the content I am publishing and what its objective is.  As your host, Manny, I also remind the audience about my struggle with sex addiction and what has worked for me in my recovery.  We also talk about what your wounds and chains are.  We need to be able to identify our enemy or whatever it is that we want to be free from in order to war with it and overcome it!

I also mention Gateway to Freedom being a grace-based recovery program that has worked for me in my life.  Here is the link for that!

  • S1 EP02 - Male Masculinity and Types

In this week's episode we talk about the various male personality types, the differences, and why I, your host, believe that male masculinity often gets a bad wrap in today's society and what the actual definitions of male masculinity are!  We dive into some of the traits of an alpha male and some of the negative connotations associated with these terms.  We also discuss other terms such as what it means to be a sigma male and beta male.

UPDATE:  There are a lot more male personality types than what is mentioned in this particular podcast.  As I have mentioned before in later podcast episodes, I reserve the right to come back and add more information and details or information in future episodes. :)  Thank you for your time and understanding!
