What our children need most is not perfect parents, but parents who passionately love Jesus and point them to Him.

How good do you have to be to be good enough for God?

In John 3:1–18, Jesus has a life-changing conversation with Nicodemus, a respected religious leader who seemed to have everything people assume would make someone right with God: morality, knowledge, position, and discipline. But Jesus tells him plainly that none of those things can give him life. He must be born again.

This message, “The Problem With Good,” reminds us that we cannot make ourselves good enough for God. Sin is like poison running through our veins, and we are powerless to save ourselves. But God has provided the cure through Jesus Christ. Just as Moses lifted up the bronze snake in the wilderness, Jesus was lifted up on the cross so that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life.

At the heart of the gospel is this invitation: God loved the world, gave His Son, and calls whoever believes to come and be saved. Jesus did not come to condemn the world, but to rescue people already condemned.

Run to the cross. Believe in Jesus. Trust fully in the only One who can save.

Where is the Lamb? That question, first asked by Isaac in Genesis 22, becomes one of the most important questions in all of Scripture. From the promise of Genesis 3:15 to the sacrifices of the Old Testament, God’s people were waiting, longing, and looking for the Lamb.

In John 1:29, John the Baptist gives the answer: “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”

In this sermon from John 1:29–34, we look at Jesus as the Lamb of God—the one promised, revealed, anointed, and declared to be the Son of God. Jesus is the sacrifice provided by God, the one who takes away sin, and the only Savior worthy of our faith and worship.

The Old Testament asked the question: Where is the Lamb?

The New Testament gives the answer: Behold, Jesus, the Lamb of God.

In Luke 7:1–10, we meet a Roman centurion whose servant is sick and near death. Though others called him worthy, he approached Jesus with humility and faith, saying, “Lord, don’t trouble yourself… but say the word, and my servant will be healed.”

This passage teaches us the proper way to approach Jesus: not with pride, entitlement, or self-importance, but with humble dependence and confident faith. The centurion understood authority, recognized the authority of Christ, and trusted that Jesus could heal with just a word.

May Jesus find that kind of faith in our homes today.

There’s something within all of us that keeps score. We remember wrongs done to us, words spoken about us, and regrets from things we did or didn’t do. And when we compare ourselves to God’s standard, deep down we know we don’t measure up. So what do we do with the guilt we feel? In Psalm 130, we see a cry from the depths and a powerful reminder that God is more ready to forgive than we are to confess. If God kept an account of our iniquities, none of us could stand. But with Him, there is forgiveness. Because of who God is and what Christ has done, guilty sinners can cry out, be forgiven, and stand redeemed. No depth is too deep for God’s grace. And no sinner is beyond the reach of redemption.

Psalm 110 gives us one of the clearest pictures of who Jesus is: the reigning King and the eternal High Priest. In this message, we walk through how Christ’s authority and Christ’s priesthood are not competing ideas, but two parts of the same gospel hope. We see the King enthroned, His kingdom expanding, His people offering themselves willingly, and His enemies ultimately conquered. But the message also confronts the deeper problem: the human heart resists God’s rule. That is why we not only need a King over us, but a Priest for us.

Through Psalm 110 and its New Testament fulfillment, this sermon shows how Jesus Christ alone meets both needs. He reigns with all authority, and He has made purification for sins once for all. The right response is clear: submit fully to Christ the King, rest confidently in Christ the Priest, offer yourself willingly to His service, and repent while mercy is still extended.

What do we do with our sin? Psalm 51 shows us that sin is never small, never harmless, and never something to hide. In this message, we walk through David’s confession after his failure and see three life-shaping truths: sin is destructive, God is gracious, and confession leads to restoration. Through David’s cry for mercy, we are reminded that grace is not just God overlooking our past, but God making sinners new through the sacrifice of Christ. If you are carrying guilt, shame, or the weight of hidden sin, this message is an invitation to step into the light and discover the mercy, cleansing, and restored joy that only Jesus can give. Psalm 23 is often read at funerals, but this message reminded us that it was first spoken from a place of pain, pressure, and betrayal. David was walking through one of the hardest seasons of his life, yet he could still say, “The Lord is my shepherd.”

That is the hope of this Psalm. When God is your Shepherd, He is enough. He gives rest when you are weary, restores what feels drained, leads you when you are unsure, and stays with you in the valley. Shadow seasons are real, but they do not mean God has left. He is present, He is faithful, and He is still guiding His people.

This message also challenged us not to let our hardest moments define us. God does not minimize pain, but He can use even painful seasons to refine our faith and move our story forward. In Christ, we are not abandoned in the shadows. We are led through them by the Good Shepherd.

Jesus is not only the Shepherd David trusted. He is the Good Shepherd who laid down His life for the sheep. Because of Him, we can trust that goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives.

Psalm 24 asks a powerful question, “Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord?” This message explores why that question matters for every one of us, reminding us that to ascend the mountain is to enter the presence of God, which is what we were created for. The psalm calls us to have a high view of God as Creator and to examine our lives for clean hands and pure hearts, while also confronting the reality that we fall short because of sin and idolatry. Yet the hope of the gospel is that God Himself makes a way for us through Jesus Christ, the King of Glory, who cleanses and restores us so we can come into His presence. In the end, the question is not just who can ascend, but whether we will follow Christ, the only way to the Father.

Does God speak?

That’s one of the most important questions anyone can ask... and Psalm 19 gives a clear and powerful answer: Yes, He does.
