Episode 80 of the conversations between Yogita Pant and Anil Chawla describes the events that took place when Ram decided to appeal to the ocean to grant passage. For three days and three nights, Ram prayed to the ocean to give way. But there was no response from the ocean. Ram decided to use brute force and dry up the ocean. When Ram was about to release the most powerful Brahmastr, the ocean appeared and suggested that Ram consider building a bridge. The ocean also told him that there was a vaanar named Nal who was the son of Vishwakarma. Nal accepted that he had the expertise to build a bridge across the ocean. With the support of the army which consisted of millions of vaanars, Nal constructed the huge bridge in five days. Episode 79 of the conversations between Yogita Pant and Anil Chawla describes the events that took place in the camp of Vaanar Sena after Ram, Sugreev and their ministers decided to accept Vibheeshan as part of their team. Vibheeshan was given a warm welcome. Vibheeshan, on his part, declared that he had left behind Lanka and was now completely under Ram. Looking at Vibheeshan affectionately, Ram asked him about details of various key persons of Raavan’s army. Vibheeshan answered the question giving all details openly and frankly. Impressed with Vibheeshan’s openness, Ram declared that he would kill Raavan and make Vibheeshan the king of Lanka. The surprise declaration made Vibheeshan bow his head and affirm that he would use all his strengths and capabilities to enable Ram to defeat Raavan. The affirmation pleased Ram immensely. Ram embraced Vibheeshan and directed Lakshman to get water from the ocean and coronate Vibheeshan as the king of Lanka. Lakshman complied with the order and Vibheeshan was crowned. After the coronation, Sugreev and Hanuman asked Vibheeshan about the way of crossing the ocean. Vibheeshan suggested that Ram should ask for help from the ocean devta.

Shardul, a detective of Raavan, saw the camp of Vaanar army and reported to Raavan. Raavan ordered Shardul to go to Sugreev and convey a message asking Sugreev to desert Ram. Shardul flew as a parrot, reached the camp and told Sugreev as directed by Raavan. The vaanar soldiers caught Shardul, gave him a good beating and put him behind bars. Shardul cried for help to Ram pleading that he was a diplomat and hence enjoyed diplomatic immunity. Ram directed the soldiers to leave him and spare his life. Before leaving, Shardul asked Sugreev for his reply. As Sugreev was communicating his reply, Shardul was surveying the army. Prince Angad noticed it and cried that Shardul was a detective and should be arrested. On the orders of Sugreev, Shardul was caught and imprisoned. Shardul once again appealed to Ram for sparing his life. Ram heard his cries and asked the soldiers to free him. (Ref. Chapters 19-20, Yuddh Kand, Shreemad Valmikiy Ramayan)

Episode 78 of the conversations between Yogita Pant and Anil Chawla describes the detailed deliberations that took place among Ram, Sugreev, Hanuman and their key ministers when Vibheeshan reached their camp and asked for shelter. At first the vaanars wanted to kill Vibheeshan considering him to be Raavan’s kin who was a threat to them. Vibheeshan introduced himself and asked for a meeting with Ram. He sought Ram’s protection in all humbleness. Sugreev informed Ram about the arrival of Raavan’s brother, Vibheeshan. Sugreev was absolutely clear that Vibheeshan should either be put behind bars or should be killed. Other ministers of Sugreev wanted Vibheeshan to be examined carefully and a decision taken based on his qualities. Hanuman differed from everyone else. Hanuman was inclined to trust Vibheeshan and give him refuge and protection. Ram pleaded for protecting and befriending Vibheeshan on the basis of dharm. Episode 77 of the conversations between Yogita Pant and Anil Chawla describes the last attempt by Vibheeshan to convince Raavan to return Seeta to Ram and avoid war. Vibheeshan tells Raavan that Seeta is like a snake on his neck and he must get rid of Seeta as quickly as possible. Vibheeshan tells Raavan that the warriors of Lanka are no match for Ram and all of them will be killed by Ram. Army chief Prahast counters Vibheeshan by saying that they are not afraid of anyone and they can defeat any enemy. Vibheeshan describes the qualities of Ram and tells the warriors in the royal court of Raavan that they can say such words as long as they have not been hit by the arrows of Ram. Vibheeshan tells the members of the royal court to stop their king from going on a wrong path. Meghnaad (also called Indrajeet), son of Raavan, insults his uncle Vibheeshan calling him a coward who can do nothing but act scared. Meghnaad boasts of his past victories and tells that he is not afraid of two ordinary human beings. Vibheeshan scolds his nephew, Meghnaad, as one who does not know the difference between right and wrong. At this point Raavan addresses Vibheeshan accusing him of jealousy and of ill will towards Raavan. Raavan abuses Vibheeshan in the strongest possible words and says that if anyone other than Vibheeshan had dared to say such things, the person would have been killed. After hearing Raavan, Vibheeshan decides to walk out of Raavan’s court. Vibheeshan wishes Raavan all the best and leaves the court. (Ref. Chapters 14-16, Yuddh Kand, Shreemad Valmikiy Ramayan)

Episode 76 of the conversations between Yogita Pant and Anil Chawla relates to the deliberations in Lanka related to the war. After Vibheeshan departs from Raavan’s residence, having told Raavan about all the bad omens, Raavan thinks over the matter. Raavan is obsessed with Seeta. He decides to not heed Vibheeshan’s sane advice and makes up his mind for war. He goes to the royal court and calls for all the members of the court. As soon as the court is assembled, he orders for the army to be put on state of alert and orders for high level security to be deployed for the security of the city. He, then, briefs the royal court about his kidnapping of Seeta and the imminent war with Ram. Kumbhkarn, Raavan’s brother, expresses his anger about Raavan’s kidnapping of Seeta. Kumbhkarn scolds Raavan for doing this stupid act and tells him that Ram is surely going to kill him for it. Having said all the harsh words, Kumbhkarn assures Raavan that Kumbhkarn will kill Ram and Lakshman. Mahaparshv, a great warrior, now suggests to Raavan to rape Seeta and enjoy the pleasures. Raavan likes the suggestion, but tells about a curse that if he dares to rape any woman his head will split into a thousand pieces. Raavan says that he is afraid of the curse and hence is not raping Seeta. (Ref. Chapters 11-13, Yuddh Kand, Shreemad Valmikiy Ramayan)

Episode 75 of the conversations between Yogita Pant and Anil Chawla starts with describing the state of mind of Ram as he is thinking about Seeta camping with the army near the ocean. The discussion moves to Raavan’s royal court. Raavan is shaken up after the devastation caused by Hanuman in Lanka. Raavan is also aware that Ram has moved with a vast army. Raavan knows that Ram has reached the ocean and may soon cross the ocean and reach Lanka. He asks his courtiers for advice explaining the value of good advice and also that one must take decisions based on advice of learned persons and well-wishers. Immediately after Raavan asked for advice, the courtiers went into an overdrive praising Raavan and also talking of his past achievements. The round of praise was followed by grand claims by various warriors about how each one of them could go and finish off the army singlehandedly. In the midst of this chest-thumping, Vibheeshan (younger brother of Raavan) argued coolly that nothing would be achieved by going into war with Ram. Vibheeshan argued that Ram had done nothing wrong and abduction of Seeta was without any justification. Vibheeshan advised Raavan to return Seeta to Ram before the war breaks out. Raavan does not reply to Vibheeshan. Next morning, Vibheeshan goes to Raavan’s residence and tell him about all the bad omens that have been happening since Seeta has been brought to Lanka. Episode 74 of the conversations between Yogita Pant and Anil Chawla describes the events that took place after Prince Angad, Veer Hanuman and their team reached Kishkindha. Hanuman informed Ram about well-being of Seeta. Hanuman described in detail all the events that happened during his trip to Lanka. Hanuman also handed over to Ram the piece of jewellery that Seeta had given to him. Ram praised Hanuman and embraced him. The big question that worried Ram was about army crossing the ocean to reach Lanka. Sugreev asked Ram to not worry about it. Ram asked Hanuman to brief about strategic details of Lanka as well as Raavan’s army. After informing in detail about the enemy’s army and fort, Hanuman sought orders from Ram for the army to proceed. Ram gave detailed instructions for the army to move. Episode 73 of the conversations between Yogita Pant and Anil Chawla describes a very interesting event during the return journey of the team led by Yuvraj Angad. Just as they were approaching Kishkindha, they came across a beautiful garden named Madhuvan full of sweet ripe fruits and honey. The garden was under royal protection and no one was allowed to enter the garden. This team led by Angad decided to eat the fruits and drink the honey of Madhuvan. Dadhimukh, who was in-charge of security of the garden tried to stop them but they resisted all his efforts. They bashed up all the guards of the garden including Dadhimukh and had a great party enjoying the fruits and honey. Dadhimukh rushed to Sugreev to complain about their behaviour. When Sugreev learnt about the destruction of Madhuvan by Angad, Hanuman and team, he was sure that they had achieved their objective of searching for Seeta. Sugreev asked Dadhimukh to pardon them since they were coming back after achieving a great task. (Ref. Chapters 61-64, Sundar Kand, Shreemad Valmikiy Ramayan)

Episode 72 of the conversations between Yogita Pant and Anil Chawla describes the events that followed Veer Hanuman’s burning down of Lanka. As Hanuman sat near the ocean looking at the flames that were causing death and havoc in Lanka, it suddenly struck Hanuman that the fire could have damaged even Seeta. The thought scared him enormously. He went and met Seeta. He was delighted to see safe and unhurt. He talked to Seeta and departed from Lanka. After reaching Mahendra Parvat, he was welcomed by Yuvraj Angad and other vaanar warriors who were glad to hear from Hanuman about his meeting Seeta. Filled with enthusiasm, Hanuman proposed that they attack Lanka and liberate Seeta. Angad supported Hanuman’s proposal. But the wise Jambwan disagreed saying that they did not have orders for liberating Seeta. (Ref. Chapters 55-60, Sundar Kand, Shreemad Valmikiy Ramayan)

Episode 71 of the conversations between Yogita Pant and Anil Chawla describes the events that took place after Hanuman faced Raavan in Lanka. Hanuman addressed Raavan as an ambassador from King Sugreev and explained in detail that it is in Raavan’s best interests to return Seeta to Ram. Hanuman also explained that there is no way that Raavan can escape death by doing a crime against Ram. Raavan was furious and ordered Hanuman to be killed. Vibheeshan, brother of Raavan, argued against Raavan’s order pleading that an ambassador can never be killed. After much arguments, Vibheeshan managed to convince Raavan that some other punishment could be awarded to Hanuman instead of death sentence. Raavan now ordered that Hanuman’s tail should be covered with clothes and burnt. Raavan also ordered for Hanuman to be paraded along the streets of Lanka with his burning tail. Hanuman could have easily broken the ropes that were binding him and escaped. But Hanuman decided to go through the ordeal to get to see the fort of Lanka. After seeing the fort, Hanuman set himself free and jumped on the houses of Lanka. In no time houses and palaces of Lanka were burning. With whole of Lanka engulfed by fire, Hanuman went to the ocean and extinguished the fire on his tail. (Ref. Chapters 51-54, Sundar Kand, Shreemad Valmikiy Ramayan)
