    Happy all the things in May: Boy's Day in Hawaii, Cinco De Mayo, Mother's Day and Star Wars! The weather is nice and warm and now that everyone is getting vaccinated it's time to plan new adventures. I know you are all doing this already, but for everyone else can we just keep asking if we can all continue our Covid precautions to keep those who are unable to be vaccinated healthy, especially our keiki (children).     Wishing all the mom’s around the world a special Mother’s Day! Mom's come in all shapes, sizes and genders, it’s the act of caring for another precious soul and shaping the life of another in love and joy, despite all of life's challenges.   
    As a mom, I know I’m not perfect, but as any mom would say, my children are. I have done my best and still strive to be better. Being a mom is an endless journey of sacrifice, nurturing, learning and understanding. I know someday, my children will go on without me and I hope that I have instilled in them a love and kindness to be even more wonderful people in the world that they will inherit. -Mai

    Hawaiʻi celebrates Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole with parades, hula, concerts and other events throughout the state. As Hawaii isn’t fully opened, due to increases in Covid cases, celebrations this year are still very low key. Until Hawaii kamaʻaina (residents) are fully vaccinated and covid cases decline, Hawaiʻi will have to hold off on bigger events.

    Prince Kūhiō was the only monarch to serve in the U.S. Congress and he is largely responsible for building the infrastructure improvements in Hawai`i.

    Prince Kūhiō and his brothers are credited with introducing surfing to America and England.

    Hawai`i has hit a record low on real estate inventory with many remote workers relocating to the islands.

    Hawai`i is a beautiful place to visit and drive, please be careful of all the bikers. Roads and bike lanes are sometimes treacherous and bikes do have the same rights to use the roads as cars, so please give them room. Please no tailgating motorcyclists either, roads are in bad enough shape to navigate, so DRIVE WITH ALOHA. Mahalo.
