Now in the hands of the jailer, Paul and Silas powerfully display the confidence that every believer must hold to when faced with problems, pain and persecution.--This counterintuitive response is immediately followed by a crisis, a question and a conversion. The Philippian jailer - the third and final key character of Acts chapter 16 - having been brought to an end in himself, and heard and believed in the Christ of the gospel, is saved on the brink of eternity. --The message of the missionaries has not expired. All who remain in their unbelief must come and wholeheartedly believe in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. All who have responded as the jailer and his household did, must go on to evidence their faith in the way that is laid out for us in Luke's account.
