Get ready for a blast from the past of nuclear proportions. The Main Protagonists have gathered today to discuss video games that fill us with nostalgia. Not the usual Mario, Sonic, or Spyro titles, mind you. We went looking for nostalgic memories in games that few people talk about today.
Whether its grand strategy games based on French comics or RPGs we put 200 hours into without finishing them; we promise an episode full of weird surprises.
The ultimate fusion of two protagonists is here, ready to duke it out in the arena of anime discourse. Pettry and Casper return from their long hiatus with a relaunch of the Main Protagonist podcast. Among many other changes, we will now be centering these podcasts on specific topics rather than a loose assembly of news items and recurring segments. What better way to start this off than with one of the most beloved shounen anime of all time!
Throw back a senzu bean, charge your ki, and get ready to fight it out, fight it out. We're talking Dragon Ball Z today!
Quick update: This podcast was recorded last week. Since then Seven Seas has agreed to recognize its union instead of fighting its own employees. This does not change anything in regards to their regrettable decisions discussed in this recording, but at least things are looking up.
With that said. Happy Pride Month!
Hundreds of euros, one box full of games. What's inside? NO CLUE!
Today we got an unboxing. Casper purchased a bulk of games (we hope) after a drinking binge and no record remains of what he put in it. It could be a bounty of treasure or a complete waste of money.

With much enthusiasm we bring you this 15th episode chronicling our adventures in anime, manga, and video games. This time around we're tackling a variety of topics, ranging from cherished video games from our childhoods to hentai about having allergies. Some shocking events have unfolded in the past few days that we're thrilled to share as well. Pettry managed to simultaneously find a new all-time favorite anime, while also stumbling unto a series that filled him with seething hatred. Casper also has a big surprise prepared for today; one lurking just barely off-screen until it's ready to be deployed.
Happy pride month y'all.
It's time for an origin story! Pettry and Casper talk about how they first met and became an unbeatable protagonist duo. Along the way they discuss bullies, terrible mentor figures, and the suffering one must endure while trying to secure a degree in IT Management.
Life has gotten a whole lot sunnier for the main protagonists! Pettry's newest medications has unlocked some latent superpowers in him, granting the ability to focus on things for more than 5 seconds. The entire set has been redecorated and he suddenly has a lifetime worth of stories to tell; even though only 2 weeks have passed since our last recording. Meanwhile Casper has nothing but praise for the anime he has recently watched and side-character Tohmo has been temporarily upgraded to fellow protagonist, on account of the current heat waves.
In this episode we got some novel news to share and we'll also be answering a viewer question about color theming in anime. We'll also be roasting a terrible book about anime history and Casper has to muster a desperate defense of his beloved childhood games. Enjoy!
Well, we're 2 weeks overdue, but by some miracle we're both at least still alive. Like a true Super Saiyan, Pettry has returned from the brink of death and came out stronger than ever before. And with great timing as well, because we got some more Dragon Ball Z content lined up for this episode. Casper, meanwhile, has returned from a series of quests where he faced financial disasters and harsh criticism of his taste in anime. But nothing will deter him, so here he is again to share controversial takes and pay for Pettry's lunch afterward!
The side-characters take a tour through gaming history, starting with the noble NES. Join us as we share our experiences, anecdotes, and frustrations with each console generation.
Pettry will never recover from the mental anguish I have inflicted on him.
