On this episode of The Nomadic Outdoorsman Dan talks with Erin Merrill, an outdoorswoman, writer and one of the few people to ever accomplish Maine’s Grand Slam

Erin started hunting 20 years ago with her Dad. Since that time, they have spent countless hours in the woods stalking whitetails. In 2021, Erin was drawn for a moose tag and set the goal to get her Grand Slam - taking a turkey, bear, moose and deer within the same calendar year. She trapped her bear in early September, followed by an incredible moose hunt at the end of September into early October. Her grand slam was completed in early November after she shot a turkey and a 5 point buck.

Erin writes for the Northwoods Sporting Journal, is a Senior Writer for Drury Outdoors' DeerCast, is the Director of Business Operations for Blood Origins, sits on the board of the New England Outdoor Writers Association and is field staff for OnX and Fit to Hunt. Her blog, And a Strong Cup of Coffee, highlights her hunting adventures.
