Marvel’s ” Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ” dominated the domestic box office in its debut, earning $180 million over the weekend and providing a much-needed lift to beleaguered cinemas. The sequel demolished the record for a November opening in North America, soaring past the previous high-water mark of $158 million set by 2013’s “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.”

A really short show this week, but we share some news, review Specs #1 from BOOM! Studios, and share some general thoughts on Black Adam: The Dark Age.

Time isn’t up for ” The Sandman,” with Netflix ordering more episodes of its hit fantasy show adapted from Neil Gaiman ‘s seminal DC Comics series. The streamer announced the news Wednesday evening. Netflix is calling the forthcoming installment “a continuation of ‘The Sandman’ world” which will expand in the next episodes.

Lin-Manuel Miranda is joining Disney+’s upcoming ” Percy Jackson and the Olympians ” series as the Greek god Hermes, the streamer announced Monday. The Tony, Grammy and Emmy winner joins the upcoming adaptation of author Rick Riordan’s popular YA series about Greek mythology.

Oscar winner Daniel Kaluuya is swinging into Sony’s Spider-Verse. The actor has joined the cast of Sony Pictures Animation’s “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” a sequel to the groundbreaking “Into the Spider-Verse” which also nabbed an Academy Award. He will be voicing the role of Hobart “Hobie” Brown, a.k.a. Spider-Punk.

2022 Ringo Awards winners announced

After writing and producing the first two "Venom" movies, Kelly Marcel has been tapped to direct the upcoming third movie for Sony Pictures. The project is still in early development, but star Tom Hardy is set to return as the lethal protector Venom, one of Sony's slate of Marvel characters.

” Grendel” is no longer happening at Netflix, Variety has confirmed. Based on Matt Wagner’s popular comic books, the series (which had an eight episode order) follows Hunter Rose, a fencer, writer and assassin who fights organized crime in New York to avenge the death of a lost love, until he ends up taking over the crime scene himself.

Paper Girls won’t be heading back out on its current route. Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service has canceled the series, based on a comic by Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang, after a single season. The decision comes six weeks after the eight-episode season debuted in its entirety.
