Managing bankroll in poker is similar to managing cash flow in a business. You need to be able to manage the downswings in order to reap the rewards.
For a $2/$5 No-Limit cash game, the maximum buy-ins are typically between $500 to $1,000. Being down 4-10 buy-ins is very typical, even if you're playing your best poker. This is why I need to set aside $10,000 to $20,000 for my poker bankroll.
In this episode, I'll go deeper into factors to consider, such as aggression levels, your estimated win rates, and sample size for evaluating your results.

When I mention I play poker to my friends, some of them often ask me, "Does this mean you need to focus on their body language and tells?"
Even though these are factors to consider in a close decision during a poker hand, there are more valuable factors to look for.
I typically look at how much they buy in, how they dress, and how they carry themselves overall - such as how they handle conflicts or bad beats.
You can make preflop adjustments after you have reasonable assumptions for the opponents you play against.
After that, I will teach you what to take notes on throughout your session.
Finally, I will go over 1 interesting hand I played from last month in April 2021 - what I did right and what I did wrong.
