According to Luke 15th chapter, Jesus told a story about two sons and their father. Often this is referred to as the parable of the prodigal son, although the word prodigal is not used in the scripture. Some find meaning in a surface level approach to the story. In other words, the younger son would represent sinners, the older son represent teachers of the law and the father representing God.
What if there are other ways of finding meaning within the story?
Listen as Mary Ellen shares a metaphysical lesson about both the sons and the father representing levels of our nature.

And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, they say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. John 8: 1-11 KJV

We are often told how important it is to forgive. But what is forgiveness and is there a recipe for it? Listen as Mary Ellen shares a practical lesson about forgiveness and the process of forgiving ourselves and others.
"Forgiveness is a process of giving up the false for the true; erasing sin and error from the mind and body. It is closely related to repentance, which is turning from belief in sin to belief in God and righteousness. It is through forgiveness that true spiritual healing is accomplished. Forgiveness removes the errors of the mind, and bodily harmony results in consonance with divine law. Forgiveness really means the giving up of something. Jesus said that man has power to forgive sin. Sin is the falling short of divine law, and repentance and forgiveness are the only means that man has of getting out of sin and its effect and coming into harmony with the law."

The familiar acronym KISS might be a reminder to keep our spirituality simple.
Some would define spirituality as that which has to do with ecclesiastical law and belonging to the church. Simplicity is often defined as the state of being uncomplicated or uncompounded. Is it possible that spirituality is not as complicated as previously believed? In other words, what if spirituality is basically simple? Listen as Mary Ellen shares thoughts about not making spirituality complicated and keeping it simple, practical and useable.

We are not the bodies we are wearing temporarily. We are we are eternal beings. Remembering this empowers us and makes a big difference in how we perceive ourselves and the world we live in.
