  • Farewell Sergio

After a few weeks of speculation, Sergio Pellicer has confirmed that he will be leaving Málaga CF at the end of the season. We react to the news and discuss who could be the new manager. Also, we were delighted to be joined by Oviedo fan Alexandra Jonson to talk about Málaga’s 1-0 loss to Oviedo this week, as well as her dislike for Eurovision.

  • An Interview with...Iván Calero

We were delighted to be joined by Málaga right-back, Iván Calero. We talked about his time at Málaga so far, playing without fans, VAR, Escassi apparently not being scary and his time spent with  the likes of Diego Simeone, Steve McLaren and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

  • Calm in a Storm

As thunder and lightning hammered the Costa del Sol, all was calm on the pitch at La Rosaleda. Málaga put in a composed performance against promotion chasing Mallorca and very much deserved their 1-1 draw. We look back on us getting a penalty for only the second time this season, the brilliance of Juan Soriano and the guy with the Mini name, but the big talent. Plus, we look ahead to our game against Oviedo next week, Redbird’s investment in Málaga CF and who we want to get promoted from Segunda B and join us in the league next season.

  • Friendzoned in Barcelona

As expected against the best team in the league, Málaga succumbed to a 3-0 loss to Espanyol - a club who will almost certainly be joining the Primera very soon. Having listened to us lament the defeat and with Chris’ delivering some interesting analogies on how the game reminded him of dating, we looked ahead to our next game. From playing 1st in the league, we now go on to play 2nd in the league, Mallorca. We were joined by Alex Fitzpatrick of Tornarem - the independent Mallorca podcast - to talk about our visitors from the Balearics. Plus, we discuss Pellicer (maybe) staying, loanees wanting to return and our new, very local, sponsors for next season.

  • Pericos v Pellicer's

With their own play-off party seeming impossible now, Málaga could be heading to a different promotion party this weekend. This Sunday, Málaga travel to Espanyol to take on the league leaders, where the hosts can get promoted if results go their way elsewhere. We were joined by Mark the ‘Mancunian Perico’ to talk all things Espanyol ahead of the game. We also discussed what went wrong for Málaga against Fuenlabrada in their 1-0 home loss this past weekend and discuss the future of Sergio Pellicer, who the press have linked with other Segunda jobs this week.

  • The European Pooper League

All of football was dwarfed this week by the news of a potential European Super League. It would have been amiss of us not to offer our views on this proposal and how it could affect football and our own beloved Málaga. Of course, we didn’t ignore the going-ons at Málaga, as they drew 1-1 at Las Palmas. Is that the end of their ambitious play-off hopes now? Or does a win against Fuenlabrada this coming weekend still give hope?

  • The P Word

It’s now two wins in a row for Málaga and they sit comfortably in the top half - so can we begin using the P word? (SPOILER ALERT: it does get used a lot on this podcast eventually). We look back on Málaga’s ‘comfortable’ 2-0 win over Albacete, as well as talking about the latest news coming out of Málaga regarding possible summer signings. We were also delighted to be joined by Matt Rayns of the UD Las Palmas UK Fan Zone to discuss Málaga’s upcoming game against Las Palmas.

  • The SteFanclub

Was it a David Lombán goal? Was it is a Stefan Šćepović goal? Do we care? Not really - a goal is a goal and that goal meant a 1-0 win for Málaga over Lugo, taking Los Boquerones onto 46 points and surely guaranteeing their place in Segunda next season already. We look back on a game described as a ‘boxing match’ by Sergio Pellicer, as well as looking ahead to our game against bottom of the league Albacete this coming weekend. To talk all things Albacete, we were delighted to be joined by Rik of Clockwork Cheese - the Albacete UK supporters’ group.

  • Life of Brian

There have been two games in a week for Málaga and just one point taken. We look back at an unfruitful week for the club with a 1-1 draw away at Cartagena and then a 3-0 loss at home to high-flying Almeria. What has gone wrong for Málaga this week and how do they get back on track against Lugo this coming weekend? We discuss all. Plus, we are also joined by Almeria fan Brian White to talk about VAR (again), varying Sheikhs at the helm of our clubs, the ‘rivalry’ between Málaga and Almeria and we even fit in some Sir Stanley Matthews chat.

  • The Guiri Gladiator: An Interview with Charlie Dean I'Anson

For our second bonus podcast, we were delighted to be joined by Charlie Dean I’Anson - a professional footballer at UCAM Murcia and, more importantly for us, a Málaga fan. We talked about his move from England to Spain as a child and growing up in Benalmadena, where he got to play alongside Isco at Atlético Benamiel. Plus, we talked about British footballers abroad, his time at Grimsby Town, his experiences in Spanish football and his tattoos and much more. And of course, we began to push for Manolo Gaspar to step up and bring Charlie to La Rosaleda.
