  • Afri-tunes Week #166 /) Agivye Cover By mamab
Hello friends, welcome to Afri-tunes community week #166. My name is mamab, I am so excited to be part of the community where we have the privilege of sharing our African songs. I want to salute the efforts of the moderators in keeping the community lively.
It has not been easy to keep up with the weekly posts but I make efforts anytime I find small space to put something together.
On this edition, I did something special. I've been using English and Hausa majorly but today I decided to go into one of the indigenous tribes of Nasarawa State called Eggon to pick an old chorus I grew up to know.
I decided to give the song the title "Agivye" which means we are grateful. The song is actually the translation of a popular Hausa song. What the song is saying is it is because of Jesus that we have reached today. Some people may be tempted to think sometimes that it is because they planned their lives, eat healthy and stock things and money that they alive.
There are times that all the plans doesn't work if not for the mercies of God. The song is reminding us that it is because of God's love and kindness that we are where we are, alive and moving.
I am specially calling on @ovye10, @fasacity, @joseph2014 and other Nasarawa indigenes to join me in the singing.
I've not heard @chidistickz singing in any language apart from English and Hausa before 🤔. Maybe this will encourage and challenge him to begin to enter into some Nigerian tribes like Igbo and others 😁.
I will see you guys in the next post, I'm out.
    Thanks for checking 🙏

  • Hive Open Mic Week #265 // Winning By Sinach Covered By mamab
Beautiful greetings to everyone on this special community, I welcome you to Hive Open Mic Week #265. My name is mamab. I am very delighted to participate in this edition with the theme: "Through the rain". The theme for the week is very interesting.
In my interpretation, through the rain entails having experiences that may be challenging and uneasy. There is an adage that says life is not a bed of roses. There are times one goes through hard seasons, other times there are soft seasons.
To connect with the theme, I chose to do the cover of a beautiful song by Sinach titled "Winning". No matter what happens I choose to stand on the word of God and keep moving.
I am inviting @danielkuye and @favourstrings to do the cover with guitar 🤗 and finish us with riffs and runs 😁.
    Lyrics
Through the fire, through the storm
I will stand in your word
Through the fire, through the storm
I will stand in your word
Jesus, my victory, Jesus, my song
You are my victory, you are my song
    Hallelujah, hallelujah
    Ayy-ayy-ayy-ayy-ayy
Declare it with us, through the fire
Through the fire, through the storm
I will stand in your word
Wave your hands, declare it with us, through the fire
Through the fire, through the storm
I will stand in your word
    Say, Jesus, my
    Jesus, my victory
    Jesus, my song
    Jesus, my song
    You are my
    You are my victory
    You are my
    You are my song
Yeah, my Jesus, victory (Jesus, my victory)
Jesus, my song (Jesus, my song)
    Yeah, you are my victory
    You are my victory
    You are my
You are my song (you are, hey)
I have overcome, I am winning every day
I have overcome, I am winning every day (see, witness all over this place, come on)
I have overcome, I am winning every day (say, "I have overcome")
I have overcome, I am winning every day (shout out, hey)
Oh, I have overcome, I am winning every day
Oh, I have overcome, I am winning every day
Oh, I have overcome, I am winning every day (wave your hands, come on)
Oh, I have overcome, I am winning every day (let's have the sounds of it)

  • Afri-tunes Week #164 // Takama Na By Solomon Damulak Covered By mamab
A warm welcome to everyone to my blog today. My name is mamab. This is is Afri-tunes community week #164. Afri-tunes is one community where one is allowed to share and express music in the African style.
On this edition, I went into the archives to pick a Hausa gospel song from Northern Nigeria titled "Takama na" which means my boast. It was composed by Solomon Damulak, a music minister from Plateau State. His songs were very popular in the North about 10 years ago or so. He is talented and has a great voice.
The song Takama na is all about boasting in Jesus. The song writer said he will not boast in money, riches or his intelligence. It is a good point to ponder upon, seeing that in our present world, many things are driving people. When there was no internet, there were a number of things that we didn't hear about. For instance, scamming people of money to become rich. There are people that glorify their cars such that you dare not lean on it. They boast in the number of classic cars they drive.
Coming to the fashion world, beauty is driving ladies crazy. There are different makeup styles, some spend millions on surgery to reshape their bodies to their taste. As good as all the things of the world are, if we don't prioritize the Lord Jesus, we are heading to destruction at the end of life.
We are all encouraged to put God first and boast in Him, He will settle us accordingly.
Alright friends let's clear our voices and sing

  • Hive Open Mic Week #264 // Ina karfin shaitan cover by mamab
Hello to all my friends and well wishers on Hive Open Mic. It's another beautiful week with amazing entries from all the participants. My name is mamab and I give you a warm welcome to week #264. The theme for this week is "Stronger".
I will never get tired of saying kudos 💪 to the amazing moderators and admins of the community for hosting us.
In my presentation, I did the cover of an old chorus titled "Ina karfin Shaitan". The song is in Hausa language from Northern Nigeria and it means where is the strength of the devil?. I was surprised when I went online and saw quite a number of versions. I couldn't dictate who composed it originally, so I decided to add to the number by doing my own cover too 😊.
To connect to the theme for the week, I chose this song because of it's audacity to challenge the strength of the devil. Jesus is the strongest force on earth, He is stronger than the strongest, greater than the greatest and higher than the highest. When Jesus is in authority, He supercedes all in all.
I wrote the lyrics myself, it's an interesting and very simple song, let's try it together.
    Lyrics
    Ina karfin shaitan?
(Where is the strength of the devil?)
    Tun da Yesu yana mulki
    (Where Jesus is reigning)
    Ina karfin shaitan
(Where is the strength of the devil?)
    Babu o sam sam
    (None at all)
    Babu o sam sam
    (None at all)
    Babu o sam sam
    (Babu o sam sam)
    Ina karfin shaitan
(Where is the strength of the devil?
    Tun da Yesu yana mulki
    (Where Jesus is reigning)
    Ina karfin shaitan
    Babu o sam sam

  • Afri-tunes Week #162 // What Shall We Say Unto The Lord Cover By mamab
Hello Afri-tunes community members, welcome to week #162. I am @mamab on hive. How are you all doing? We are currently in the Holy Week in the Christian circle. We are recounting the sufferings that our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ passed through for the salvation package of mankind.
On this edition, I will be presenting the cover of an old chorus. I won't say I know who composed the song originally, though I've heard it in different versions as people include it in their line of praise and worship ministrations. I chose to give it the title "What shall we say unto the Lord?".
The question of what shall say unto the Lord? is a question that has many answers. There are actually many things you can say to the Lord but in this particular song what we are saying is thank you Lord. I am sure if we are to be asked one after the other on what we are saying thank you for, there will be countless reasons 😊, beginning from being alive which should be the number one on the list. The dead cannot actually thank God because they are not alive to fathom anything. So being alive is a big deal my friend.
    Lyrics
What shall we say unto the Lord
All we have to say is thank you Lord
What shall we say unto the Lord
All we have to say is thank you Lord
    Thank you Lord
    Thank you Lord
All we have to say is thank you Lord
Thank you Lord thank you Lord
All we have to say is thank you Lord
    Hausa
Me zamu ce wa Yesu mu
    Sai muce masa mun gode
Me zamu ce wa Yesu mu
    Sai muce masa mun gode
    Mun gode mun gode
    Sai muce masa mun gode
    Mun gode mun gode
    Sai muce masa mun gode

  • Hive Open Mic Week #261 // Book Of Life Cover By mamab
Greetings to everyone on the Hive Open Mic community week #261. This is mamab coming to your screen with my beautiful presentation for the week.
A big hello to @jesuslnrs, @stickupboys, @startstrings01, among other moderators for the extraordinary efforts they are putting together to make the community a home to be.
The theme for the week is "Be reborn". In my interpretation, to be reborn entails being renewed, having a new change. As a Christian, the Bible tells us that we cannot enter the kingdom of God unless we are born again. On that note, I chose to do a song by Nathaniel Bassey, a renowned gospel music minister from Southern Nigeria. It is titled "Book of life"
Your name cannot be found in the book of life if you are not reborn. Accept Jesus today to be enlisted
    Lyrics
This is the story of a brother
Who slept and woke up in forever land
    He looked around, nothing's familiar
He wondered how he got to be there
He took a walk around the city
And saw this brick house with a small door
Walked into the room and saw a man in white
Must be an angel so he said
    "Mr. Angel I'm a stranger, I don't know what's going on
The last thing I remember was I slept last night"
This is a border town that takes you where you get a crown
Must have heard of Heaven where you came from
Only those whose name I find
Written in this book of life
    Will forever be in Paradise
Is your name in this book of life?
Is your name in this book of life here?
Is your name in this book of life?
Is your name in this book of life here?

    Solo aquellos cuyo nombre encuentre

  • Afri-tunes Week #161 // Speak to it Original By mamab
This is Afri-tunes community, a special welcome to all the ladies and gentlemen here to my blog. This is week #161 and I remain your friend @mamab. It's a beautiful season with mixed experiences, there is heat, warmth and an introduction to rainy season.
Today I will be presenting a beautiful song I released few years ago titled "Speak to it". A popular saying goes - "a closed mouth is a closed destiny". There are many times we face some situations that seem to haunt us down and make us restless. We have a confidence in the word of God to ask anything in the name of Jesus. Speak to every challenge to bow for God is in control. Speak positive words over every negativity and believe that your testimony is sure.
    Lyrics
    When sickness comes my way
    I speak to it
    I am healed
    When barrenness knocks my door
    I speak to it
    I am free
When trouble comes I speak peace
When I am weak I speak strength
When trouble comes I speak peace
When I am weak I speak strength
For the has made me whole
    In the cross
For the Lord has shed His blood for me
For the Lord has me whole in the cross
For the Lord has shed His blood for me.
You can join me to sing.
I'll see you in the next post.

  • Vibes Web3 Music Competition Week #32 // Fusion of hymns (cover by mamab)
Welcome to Vibes Web3 Music Competition, this is mamab coming to your screen with my entry for week #32. How are you all doing? It's nice to be able to participate this week. It's an amazing experience to always share gifts and talents and bless each other with good vibes.
I specially acknowledge all the admins for always putting good measures in place for our weekly presentations, @lordbutterfly, @silentscreamer, @verbal-d.
On this edition I did a beautiful cover, the fusion of two hymns. We are in the lent season and entering into the Easter season for Christians. So it is important to be reminded of the passion of Jesus for our souls.
The first hymn is a question of what can wash away our stains? Only the blood of Jesus have the power. His blood is so precious that it can wash as white as snow.
The second song is now a question asking if we have accepted the washing by the blood of the lamb. The blood is free but we have to accept Jesus to receive the washing. You can accept him today if you have not done so.
    Lyrics
What can wash away my sin?
    Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
    Oh! precious is the flow
    That makes me white as snow;
    No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
Are you washed in the blood,
In the soul-cleansing blood of the Lamb?
Are your garments spotless? Are they white as snow?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

  • Afri-tunes Week #160 // My Prayer Original By mamab
I bring to you special greetings on the Afri-tunes community, I am your good friend mamab. This is the #160th week. It's a great pleasure to bring to you my entry for the week.
I will be singing an original song titled "My prayer". Prayer seems to be something that every human being engages in regardless of religion, age, race and society. Prayer is simply communicating and relating with someone supreme. As a Christian, my prayer is majorly to God who is the Sovereign Lord over all.
It's been a long while since I presented this song on this platform, almost 2 years if not more. In the song, I simply prayed to stand and shine for Christ. I believe no real believer can thrive without prayers to God. We need to talk to God through prayers as often as possible, in fact the Bible says pray without ceasing.
Join me in the prayer song today.
    Lyrics
My prayer help me Lord to stand
My prayer help me Lord to shine
Let Christ be revealed in me
Christ in me the hope of glory
Christ in me the hope of my future
None on earth can save like you do
None contend and win like you do
No better place no greater place
Than the place of our God
I want that place the place of his grace
Behold his face oh uh uh eh oh ah
The wind blows storms of life come
There is a shaking pressure everywhere
Distraction trying to weigh me down
Worries of life try to bring me down
So help me Lord help me Lord oh oh
    To stand.

  • Hive Open Mic Week #258 // My Body By Panam Cover By mamab
This is mamab on Hive Open Mic week #258. It's an honour to be here on this edition. How are you all pushing life? May God strengthen us all. I'm excited to bring to you my entry on the theme: under my skin 😊. I kept struggling throughout last week to make a post but the network challenges I faced drained my data and vigor. Well, I'm here today.
So I will be sharing a powerful old song from Dr Panam Percy Paul as a way of my interpretation of the theme. He is a father and music ministry coach, I had the privilege to enroll and also work in his school of music ministry few years ago. He released the song in his Glory 3 album and it's titled "My body".
It is a song of dedication of the body to the Lord. The Lord needs our bodies and not just our souls and spirit. But He can only use our bodies when they are dedicated to him and clean. The song writer says the Lord should purify him like gold. I believe it should be our prayer as believers so that God can find a dwelling place in us.
    Lyrics
    My body is your sanctuary
    My body is your sanctuary
    purify me like gold
so I might be bold to say
    my body is your sanctuary
    My body is your sanctuary
    My body is your sanctuary
    purify me like gold
so I might be bold to say
    my body is your sanctuary
I give it to you my body
I give it to you my body
I give it to you my body
I give it to you my body
