  • Bold Moves Podcast Episode 138 Fearless Fridays 69 Courtney’s Challenge
Welcome to Bold Moves Podcast Episode 138 Fearless Fridays 69 Courtney's Challenge!  If you missed Monday's post, I interviewed Courtney Maiorino. Courtney was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in 2012 and had no idea how to help herself until she started studying health in college. While she studied lifestyle habits, behavior change, and complementary medicine modalities, she used herself as an "experiment" to see if these techniques would actually work on a "sick" person. After her passion for wellness only grew, Courtney became a Certified Holistic Health Coach in 2015 (through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition) and began a health coaching practice (with her twin sister who also lives with a chronic illness) so they can be there to guide patients towards love, healing and a world where they can thrive. If you haven’t already checked it out, definitely go back to Monday’s episode and listen to or watch the interview! As always, Courtney issued a challenge for the listeners and readers, so that’s what today’s all about! Keep reading (and listening) for Bold Moves Podcast Episode 138 Fearless Fridays 69 Courtney's Challenge!

As always, you can choose to listen to any Fearless Fridays episode in the post where the player is embedded (see below) or on iTunes, Stitcher, or whatever podcast app you choose. The interviews are available both as audio in the same way the Friday episodes are, or also on YouTube. =)

I have been able to do one challenge so far to start catching up, and hope to be adding a few more for next week to really chip away at them! Here's Samah's!

Who are you? Or, who do you want to be? A discussion in @qallums’ Facebook group today reminded me to do the #boldmovesfearlessfridays @samahdaman suggested a while back and make a daily reminder to stand in my power. Who am I to write a book? Who am I to make an online makeup academy? Who am I to consider myself an expert in personal development enough to help others improve their lives? Someone who is ready, inspiring, and successful on her own terms, that’s who! And therefore - who am I NOT to do those things! What three words do you deserve but hold back from giving yourself?

I am still trying to do catch up, and have a long way to go! I promise I'll have more soon - my new goal is to try to do two per week! Life has been busy, so I'm building quite a list, including Olivia’s challenge, Cassandra’s Challenge, Coach Cooks' challenge, Arvin's Challenge, Kasie's Challenge, Michelle's Challenge, Julie's Challenge, Sarah's challenge, Dalilah's challenge, Quentin's Challenge,Macy's Challenge, Sierra's Challenge, PK's Challenge, Cherie's Challenge, Steph's Challenge, Dru's Challenge, Samah's Challenge, Justin's Challenge, Neil's Challenge, Mike's Challenge, Mira's challenge, and Emily's challenge!

The last challenge, from the business BAs, is one that I consider done! I am writing a book! This could also likely count for Justin's challenge, but I want to do something fun and creative in a different way for that!

This one may remind you of an idea I shared in my goal setting blog post, which is from an old video... Let me tell you, this week's challenge would be a lot easier if you had been doing this:

  • Bold Moves Podcast Episode 133: Fabulous Philanthropists!
I started this podcast back in September of 2016. At the end of that year, I was very tempted to do a retrospective compilation of my favorite episodes... Only there weren't very many episodes! I did a roundup of "Business BAs" at the end of 2017, and planned to share this - "Bold Moves Podcast Episode 133: Fabulous Philanthropists!" before the end of 2017 as well, but as you can tell by the date, it did not happen! I hope you find that it's worth the wait! And what better day for it to come out than one honoring another inspirational world-changer, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr! Here's Bold Moves Podcast Episode 133: Fabulous Philanthropists!
With so many incredible guests, it was insanely hard for me to do just ONE compilation episode... So, as you can see, I did two. But even that was super difficult to narrow down!

In the interest of time, there's no divisions between guests in this compilation, so thank goodness for these show notes to help you navigate through Bold Moves Podcast Episode 133: Fabulous Philanthropists!

And for anyone who hasn't been a longtime listener, here are links to each of the fabulous philanthropists' episodes, in case you want to do some further exploration beyond Bold Moves Podcast Episode 133: Fabulous Philanthropists! I encourage... no, implore! I implore you to go to each episode so you can find the links to each charity's social media, and even better, to their websites, so that you can make donations or show them support by following, liking, and sharing posts to get their message out there!

Here's the YouTube video for you!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjtbSxGJAfY

The first section you'll hear (or see) is my interview with Kasie Lynne, the founder of KH Kidz, a charity that improves the lives of children fighting cancer! She started her charity when she was only 15! When I was 15, I am pretty sure I only started the microwave, so I am super impressed!

My next featured philanthropist is the only one in the compilation who doesn't have her own (or should I write their own?) charity, but they do a TON of philanthropy! Check out Rosanne and Madeline Stuart! Madeline is the first model with Down's Syndrome, and Rosanne is her amazing mom who's committed to helping Maddy stay healthy and follow her dreams, and to help other parents with disabilities be the best caretakers they can, AND to help end isolation!

Next on the list was actually a friend of Madeline and Rosanne's - Christa Preston of Embrace Kulture! She helped to start an organization that is changing the lives of children with disabilities in Africa!

Grab your tissues if you're going to listen to Cory Zimmerman's full episode - and definitely make sure to check it out if you're a music fan! His organization, This Time Tomorrow, creates incredible star-studded recordings of their special song and does fund raising galas to surprise people fighting cancer with incredible "random" acts of kindness!

If you want a fire lit under your rear, check out the rest of Jamie Sheth's episode! She is an author and the founder of the J.D. Sheth Foundation, which is doing amazing things globally to meet any needs she can!

If you believe in my motto - that if you look good and feel good, you'll be able to do good, then you'll LOVE PK Kersey, the founder of That Suits You's story!

Finally, the most recent episode to feature one of my fabulous philanthropist guests is that of Drusilla Cowan, co-founder of Survivor Alliance, with a very timely message and mission to change the experience for survivors of sexual assault!

What are some of your favorite things to look back on over the course of 2017?

    xoxo,

  • Bold Moves Podcast Episode 131: Business BAs!
I started this podcast back in September of 2016. At the end of that year, I was very tempted to do a retrospective compilation of my favorite episodes... Only there weren't very many episodes! Now that 2017 is coming to a close, I am excited to share with you Bold Moves Podcast Episode 131: Business BAs!
With so many incredible guests, it was insanely hard for me to do just ONE compilation episode. In fact, it was even hard to narrow this down and limit it! One thing that helped was that some of my precious files disappeared, so it limited my options. But the other thing that helped me spread the love a bit was my decision to divide my retrospective compilation into two parts, starting with a selection of quotes and conversations from inspiring entrepreneurs. That's how Bold Moves Podcast Episode 131: Business BAs was born! I used the term "BAs" because I wanted to use "grandparent-friendly" language, but you know exactly what I mean!

Welcome to Bold Moves Podcast Episode 130 Fearless Fridays 65 Emily's Challenge. If you missed Monday's post, I interviewed Emily. She's a songwriter, podcast host, teaching artist, and author of Bare Naked Bravery: How to Be Creatively Courageous (coming Jan 2018). Emily was an artist first and struggled with losing who lost her craft, but instead of giving up, she picked up the pieces. In 2013, she was diagnosed with a degenerative neurological hand tremor, which forever altered her two-decade livelihood as a cellist/cello teacher. Instead of just giving up her passion for creativity and music, Emily defied her neurologist and became a songwriter. If you haven’t already checked it out, definitely go back to Monday’s episode and listen to or watch the interview!
