  • Bold Moves Podcast Episode 129 Emily Ann Peterson
This week’s guest, for Bold Moves Podcast Episode 129 Emily Ann Peterson has done some serious, bold moves. She's a songwriter, podcast host, teaching artist, and author of Bare Naked Bravery: How to Be Creatively Courageous (coming Jan 2018). Emily was an artist first, and struggled with losing who lost her craft, but instead of giving up, she picked up the pieces. In 2013, she was diagnosed with a degenerative neurological hand tremor, which forever altered her two-decade livelihood as a cellist/cello teacher. Instead of just giving up her passion for creativity and music, Emily defied her neurologist, and became a songwriter. Emily's story is full of emotional highs and lows, and I think it will resonate with all of us. Please enjoy Bold Moves Podcast Episode 129 Emily Ann Peterson!

Welcome to Bold Moves Podcast Episode 124 Fearless Fridays 62 Mike's Challenge. If you missed Monday's post, I interviewed Mira. Her biggest bold move was her move from LA to DC to NYC in less than 3 months. Mira truly despised the job she had in DC, even though it was halfway between where she came from, and where she wanted to be. Mira wanted to live in NYC.  Mira decided to quit her job, even before her contract ended with the job in DC. On December 27, 2007, Mira took a one-way Chinatown to Chinatown bus from DC to NYC for an $11 ticket, with just her laptop, camera, and one suitcase in hand to move to NYC and never looked back! • Refugio’s Rules: Life Lessons From Our Kitten Friend!
Those of you who know me already know that my kitten friend (who was 14.5 years old) passed away unexpectedly this week. While sorting through our sadness, my husband Tommy and I found a way to help Refugio's legacy live on. We took the life lessons from our kitten friend and made them into a set of rules to live by, and we're calling them "Refugio's Rules."

Although life isn't as sweet knowing that Refugio isn't at home waiting for me when I get there, and it's hard to sit on the couch and know he isn't coming to join me in my lap... And I keep waiting for him to jump into my bed to be the little spoon, or sleep on my head or at our feet, the life lessons from our kitten friend Refugio have really helped us remember him so fondly, as well as hopefully live better and enjoy our lives and the people in it much more because of him.

It is hard doing a podcast recording without him - if you're a subscriber either on YouTube or to the audio podcast, you've either seen him jump into my lap, or heard the reactions of guests to his giant, loving and sweet presence!

He will never be forgotten, and hopefully the pain subsides quickly, but in the meantime, we can live better and keep his memory alive and positive, with the life lessons from our kitten friend, Refugio.

I hope that you enjoy them as much as we are enjoying them. If you do, please comment or tag me on facebook, twitter, or instagram, as I would LOVE to hear how Refugio's Rules are having an impact on so many more people than he could meet in person.

[Tweet ""The two things I found: Think about what you wanted to be as a child, and why did you want that. It can help you with your passion." -Neil Panosian via @Mandelicious"]

Neil was kind enough to offer a copy of his book to one lucky listener/reader of Bold Moves! Make sure to enter!

In our call, Neil recommended* a few books, if you're interested I've provided the links here. The books were his book A Happy Life for Busy People, How to Win Friends & Influence People by Dale Carnegie, A Big Little Life by Dean Koontz.

If you're interested in learning more about Neil, you can find him at his website, YouTube, and Facebook. You can check out his book on Amazon as well.
