  • 23. Louie Valotti on self-inquiry, trauma, and the authentic self

We are thrilled to welcome Louie Valloti back to the Mangu.tv podcast. Louie is a shaman, a spiritual guide and visionary. He co-created Genesis Holistic Medicine. He is a student of Dr Gabor Mate and Alberto Villoldo. He has been initiated into Q’ero lineage of Andean shamanism. He offers a sacred space in which you can explore the multidimensional layers of the evolution of your being.

In this episode, Louis talks about the second principle of Genesis, a core principle called self-inquiry. This process of self-inquiry is building a bridge between modern psychotherapy and spiritual existential teachings that come from cosmology from Tibetan Buddhism and Q’ero shamanism. The intention behind this principle is to create a formula for connecting to our true selves, in all our forms - individual, transgenerational and existential.

We suffer because we are separated from our truth. Engaging in self-inquiry is about challenging our unconscious identifications, this is how we get to the core of what’s true for us. We are in a time when all of humanity is facing our own individual and collective unconscious identifications, our own unconscious baggage that we have been carrying from lifetimes of trauma and suppression.

Louie guides Giancarlo through the process of self-inquiry through a deeply personal story. They discuss his adolescence, his relationship with his father, his shadow work and quest for authenticity and truth.

  • 19: Bruce Parry on regeneration, egalitarianism, and his catalysts for awakening

We are honored to welcome the filmmaker and a friend, Bruce Parry to the Mangu.tv podcast. He is best known for his award-winning documentaries. We had the pleasure of working with him on “Tawai: Voice From The Forest” which followed after a considerable amount of time of living with and learning from indigenous and remote cultures around the world. After witnessing so many remote people struggling with the effects of globalization and climate change, he left his work at BBC, and directed feature documentaries about the human loss of connection to nature and the effect this has had globally. He has become an expert in regeneration after living closely with a few egalitarian societies that have managed to preserve their connection to their environment.

Bruce takes us on an incredible adventure in this podcast episode, starting with his early years as a Royal Marine. He shares the deeply personal experiences in life that were catalysts for change and awakening, from falling in love to psychedelic mushrooms and Iboga, all of which led to living with the indigenous tribes around the world. All of these pivotal experiences deepened his capacity to listen, learn and realize the impact he had on the world.

Giancarlo and Bruce discuss the importance of building trust as a formative for creating healthy societies. Examining freedom and individualism through a different lens is imperative for gaining a better understanding of our ancestry so we can create a better future.

  • 18: Marianne Costa on Tarot and the subconscious, family trees, and healing transgenerational trauma

It is an absolute honor to welcome Marianne Costa to the Mangu.tv podcast. She is a renowned world Tarot expert. Together with Alejandro Jodorowsky, she authored the bestseller - The Way of Tarot. She has also published several books translated in various languages and collaborated with institutional museums as a symbology expert.

Marianne discusses the origins of Tarot and the differences between The Tarot of Marseilles and Rider Waite Tarot. The true value of Tarot is that it holds a map of the subconscious. Much contrary to the popular misconception that it is just a device for fortune telling, it can serve as a secret ally for psychology, for coaching, and for storytelling.

Next, we focus on transgenerational psychology and the value of mapping out a family tree. The idea here is that we first must understand our transgenerational trauma. By accessing one's uniqueness, by accomplishing one's purpose we can heal it. If we have truly become ourselves, we will always break the pattern and not only heal ourselves but heal the generations before us. Her original technique called Healing Fictions combines therapy, self-development, and artistic expression with the purpose of connecting one to a place of absolute love, kindness, and intelligence.

Marianne and Giancarlo also discuss Jodorowsky, shamanism, lucid dreaming, spirituality, patriarchy, and what the future holds for us if we continue to be absorbed in the virtual world of today while losing a connection to our body.

  • 17: Aude Barras on ancient origins of Tantra, non-duality, goddess worship, and remembering the divine within

Aude Barras joins us on the Mangu.tv podcast once again. Aude is a love devotee and an intimacy teacher. Her work sits at the intersection of intimacy, embodiment, and Tantra. A practitioner of love and seeker of truth, she is immersed in a life of devotion and has studied with masters throughout the world. Her work is guiding people into remembering their erotic innocence, and divine essence through the embodiment of a more delicious connection with themselves and consciousness.

In addition to this, Aude shares her intimate knowledge of Tantra, its ancient origins, and the difference between classical Tantra and more modern neo-tantra, which is in pursuit of sexual liberation. While sexual liberation has its place in our world, it isn’t Tantra. Tantra is a deep spiritual commitment, not for the faint-hearted. She reveals the ultimate purpose of the Tantric path - to pulverize the seed of ignorance and reconnect us to the divine within, while the pursuit of neo-tantra is sexual liberation. Tantra gives everyone universal access to the divine. In the non-dualist tradition of Tantra, everything is one.

She offers some practical ways to apply these ancient mysteries and practices to our everyday life to bring out the mystical reality of each and every moment. Just as some of the deepest teachings are often the most simple, our breath, which we take for granted, holds the key to love.
