Exodus:  Pharaoh and the Egyptian army pursue the sons of Israel, God parts the Red Sea for Israel to pass on dry ground but when the Egyptians follow God closed the sea upon them.  

Matthew:  Jesus prays that this cup might pass from Him but that God's will be done.  Jesus is betrayed, arrested, taken before Caiaphas, sentenced to death and then Peter denies knowing Him three times before the rooster crows.

Exodus:  The blood of the passover lambs on the sons of Israel's doorposts spared all the lives within while the firstborn of all that lived in Egypt died as a result of Pharaoh not setting God's people free.  The Exodus begins as Israel is driven out by all the Egyptians and were given anything they asked for as plunder.  

Matthew:  The plot to kill Jesus begins and Judas looks to betray Him as the last passover is replaced when Jesus broke bread and drank the cup of wine  instituting the Lord's Supper be done in remembrance of His broken body and shed blood given for the sins of many.

Exodus:  God continues having Moses pronounce and pour out the plagues on Egypt as He has hardened Pharaoh's heart.

Mathew:  Jesus tells of the judgement that's to come when He returns in His glory and separates the sheep from the goats.  

Exodus:  Moses tells Pharaoh that God has declared "Let My People Go."  Pharaoh's heart is hardened and the plagues begin to be poured out upon Egypt.

Matthew:  Jesus tells the parables of the ten virgins and of the talents.

Genesis:  Jacob (aka Israel) moves to Egypt taking his entire family and all is possessions and is reunited with a tearful Joseph who settles him in Goshen.  Pharaoh becomes exceedingly rich as everyone sold all they had because of the severity of the famine.  Jacob blesses Joseph's sons as he prepares to die.

Matthew:  Jesus exposes the hypocrisy and pride of the scribes and Pharisees as He gives the start of the eight woes upon them.  

Genesis:  Jacob's family returns to Egypt with Benjamin where Joseph again tests the brothers until he finally reveals himself to them.  Afterward Joseph sends his brothers back to their father carrying gifts for them all.  

Matthew:  A dispute between the Sadducees and the Pharisees arrises and they ask Jesus to explain what will happen in heaven with wives of deceased husbands along with what the greatest commandment is.  

Genesis:  Upon being taken from prison to interpret Pharaoh's dreams Joseph is made a ruler in Egypt below Pharaoh due to his unmatched wisdom.  Jacob sends Joseph's brothers to Egypt to buy grain due to the famine, they encounter Joseph who they no longer recognize and are tested by him. 

Matthew 22:1-22  Jesus teaches the parable of the wedding feast and the Pharisees test Jesus over paying tribute to Caesar.
