Vs 4-8 Both Satan and suffering are under God’s perfect control.
Vs 9-10 Since our heavenly Father knows exactly what we need, we should accept both prosperity and adversity from His hand.
Vs 11-13 Sometimes, the best way to comfort a suffering friend is simply being there and being quiet.
2: 1-18 Persistent pain can change our perspective; our present pain can overwhelm past memories and future hopes.
Vs 20-26 Suffering is especially difficult when it contradicts our concept of God, and how He relates to people.

Vs 6-7 God is sovereign, and everyone is accountable to Him, including Satan.
Isaiah 14: 12-14 God hates pride because it exalts and worships the creature instead of the Creator.
Job 1: 8-12 God is worthy of worship because He is God and He is good.
Vs 13-19 God is not the author of evil, but He uses all circumstances, even disastrous ones, to accomplish His good purposes.
Vs 20-22 When you worship God, you submit to HIs sovereign control over everything in your life.

11:36-40 God has ordained the Great Tribulation in order
• To put an end to wickedness and wicked ones
• To bring about worldwide revival
• To break the will of the Jewish people in order to save them
11:41-45 Everything on earth has an expiration date, including you, so invest your energy into eternity.
12:5-7 God loves His people relentlessly, and He is ruthless in destroying anything that separates them from His love.
12:8-10 Only those who submit to the will of God can understand the mind of God, but God has chosen to conceal some things until the end.
12: 13 Be spiritually responsible every day, because resurrection and recompense are guaranteed some day.

Vs 1-3 Effective prayer requires focused attention and vigilance.
Vs 4-9 Jesus is the focus of prophecy and the goal of history.
Vs 10-14 ‘Reality’ is like an iceberg; the unseen spiritual world is far more consequential than the visible physical world.
Vs 15-17 Contact with holiness is traumatic; it brings conviction of sin and a need for cleansing.
Vs 18-21 Until Jesus returns, God’s angels and God’s people will be engaged in continual conflict with the forces of Satan.

Vs 1-3 Pray with an open Bible; pray in response to God’s word, and in harmony with God’s will.
Vs 3 Pay attention when you pray; God is worthy of your undivided attention.
Vs 4-6 Genuine prayer involves personal confession, and also intercedes for the sins of God’s people.
Vs 7-10 Genuine prayer hungers for God and HIs righteousness.
Vs 11-14 God demonstrates He is right when He keeps His promise to judge sin and sinners.
Vs 15-19 Genuine prayer petitions God to forgive and take action for His own glory, not because of our goodness.
Vs 20-23 God always answers prayer; His time, His way, His glory.

Key Idea: God accurately predicts history in advance to demonstrate His deity and increase our faith in His sovereignty.
Vs 5-8 Human beings and human institutions exist to fulfill God’s purposes, and they live and die according to His calendar.
Vs 9-14 God causes all things to work together for the good of His people, even evil things that He hates.
Vs 15-18 We cannot accurately understand events on earth, unless we view them through the lens of God’s eternal word.
Vs 19-25 Bad News: Satan and his people always oppose God’s plans and God’s people.
Good News: God’s kingdom is unstoppable.
