Ecclesiastes 2:4-11 - If, with God’s power, you do not discipline your desires, they will dominate you and waste your life.

Vs 1-2 - Only marry someone who loves Jesus more than they love you.

Vs 3-4 - Guard your heart from anyone or anything that draws you away from the LORD.

Vs 5-8 - The sin that you tolerate will metastasize into more sin.

Vs 9-13 - You can choose to obey or disobey God; but God controls the consequences you will experience.

Vs 10-11 - The greatest gift God gives us is His presence with us.

Vs 23-26 - The God of the Bible is an infinite yet personal God, who loves His people and keeps His promises.

Vs 27-30 - God in heaven hears the prayers of His people, and forgives their sins when they repent.

Vs 59-61 - God answers prayer so that everyone will know that He alone is God.

Vs 61 - The right response to the LORD our God is wholehearted love and obedience.

I Corinthians 15:11 - God records history so that we can learn from the examples of others.

Exodus 19:4-6 - God’s people must faithfully represent Him on earth, so that the world may know who He is, and how to have a relationship with Him.

Deuteronomy 28 - God always blesses the obedient and disciplines the disobedient, in His time and in His way.

I Kings 3:1-4 - Tolerating sin leads to more sin; when you love the Lord with all your heart you will hate sin.

Vs 5-9 - Ask God to give you what you need, in order to do what He has told you to do.

Vs 10-15 - When you surrender your desires to God, He always gives you more than you imagined.

2nd Thessalonians 2:13 - 3:18

2:13 The Bible teaches that God has sovereignly chosen who will be saved, and at the same time, every human being is responsible to obey Christ’s command, "repent and believe in the gospel."

Vs 14-15 God’s word is both truth and treasure; grasp it, guard it, be guided by it

Vs 16-17 We practice God’s word when we obey it and proclaim it

3: 1-5 Pray for the gospel message, pray for the messengers, and pray that God keeps you in love with Him

Vs 6-9 God commands us to lead exemplary lives, and that includes the discipline of diligent work

Vs 10-13 Don’t rely on other people to do for you what God has commanded you to do for yourself

Vs 14-18 God’s family must love God and each other enough to confront sin, and also restore the repentant sinner

Vs 1-2 The certain hope of Christ’s return gives His people comfort, calmness, and courage

Vs 3-4 Don’t be deceived; God’s worldwide judgment will not begin until worldwide rebellion occurs, and the Antichrist demands that the world worship him as God

Vs 5-7 The Holy Spirit restrains the forces of evil every day; one day His restraint will stop, and the forces of hell will be unleashed on earth

Vs 8 When Christ returns to earth, He will destroy all evil

Vs 9-10 People who do not love and embrace the truth will be deceived by Satan’s lies

Vs 11-12 God judges those who love their sin more than the Savior, by insuring that they experience the consequences of their choices for all eternity

Vs 1 God has an appointed time for Christ to return to earth, but He has not revealed that time to us.

Vs 1 The second coming of Christ is imminent, but not immediate.

Vs 2 The day of the Lord is a specific period of time when God intervenes in history to judge sin and sinners.

Vs 3 The world will be unprepared for the inevitable and inescapable judgment of God.

Vs 4-6 God’s people will be prepared for Christ’s coming because they live in the light of God’s word.

Vs 7-8 God’s people must be spiritually alert, self-disciplined and armored with faith, love and hope.

Vs 9-11 Since God’s plan for Christians is salvation and not judgment, we should encourage one another to live holy lives.
