A large banyan tree was full of pigeons. They lived there in unity and with love. Among them, there was an old pigeon who was wise and knowledgeable. Everyone affectionately called that old pigeon "Appooppan Prave"

അതൊരു ചെറിയ കാടായിരുന്നു. കാടിന്റെ ഓരത്ത് ഒരു കുഞ്ഞു ഗ്രാമവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. കാടിനേയും ഗ്രാമത്തെയും പകുത്തു നിർത്തുന്നത് ഒരു വഴിയാണ്. ആ വഴിയിൽ ഒരു ചായക്കടയുണ്ട്. സത്യേട്ടന്റെ ചായക്കട. പഴംപൊരി, പരിപ്പുവട, പൊറോട്ട, ഉഴുന്നുവട, പാലപ്പം എന്ന് തുടങ്ങി ചില ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ ബിരിയാണിയും ഉണ്ടാകാറുണ്ട്. എന്നാൽ ആ കടയിലെ ഏറ്റവും ഹിറ്റ് കോമ്പോ എന്തായിരുന്നെന്നോ? പുട്ടും കടലക്കറിയും. ഈ കടയിലെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിയ്ക്കാൻ വേണ്ടി മാത്രം കാടിറങ്ങി വരുന്ന മൃഗങ്ങളുമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവരുടെ ഇടയിലും സത്യേട്ടന്റെ ചായക്കടയ്ക്ക് ആരാധകരുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. പക്ഷെ സത്യേട്ടന് ഏറ്റവും ഇഷ്ടം തങ്കൻപുലിയെ ആണ്. ങേ? അതെങ്ങനെ?  കഥ കേട്ടോളൂ 

It was a small forest. On the edge of the forest, there was also a small village. A path separated the forest and the village. On that path, there was a teashop – Sathyettan's Teashop. They served Pazhampori, Parippuvada, Porotta, Uzhunnuvada, Palappam, and on some days, even Biryani. But do you know what the most popular combo in that shop was? Puttu and Kadalakkari. There were even animals that came down from the forest just to eat the food at this shop. Even among them Sathyettan's Teashop had its fans. But Sathyettan's favorite was Thankanpuli. Huh? How's that possible? What was then? Let's hear the story...

ആ റോഡിന് ഇരുവശത്തും കുറച്ചു വീടുകൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. എല്ലാവർക്കും തിരക്കല്ലേ, ആരും നേരിട്ട് കാണാറുകൂടിയില്ല. വല്ലപ്പോഴും പുറത്തേക്കിറങ്ങുമ്പോൾ ആരെങ്കിലും പരസ്പരം കണ്ടാൽ കണ്ടു.  മിണ്ടിയാൽ മിണ്ടി. ചിരിച്ചാൽ ചിരിച്ചു. അത്ര തന്നെ. പക്ഷെ ആ വീടുകളുടെ മതിലുകളിലുള്ള വള്ളിച്ചെടികളും പൂക്കളുമൊക്കെ നല്ല കൂട്ടായിരുന്നു. ഈ വീട്ടുകാരൊക്കെ പരസ്പരം ഒരു സ്‌നേഹവുമില്ലാതെ ജീവിക്കുന്നതിൽ അവർക്ക് ലേശം വിഷമവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അങ്ങനെ ഒരിക്കൽ ആ ചെടികളിലേക്ക് വിരുന്നു വരുന്ന പൂമ്പാറ്റകളും തേനീച്ചകളും ഈ കഥയൊക്കെ അറിഞ്ഞു. ഈ വീട്ടുകാരെയൊക്കെ ഒന്നിപ്പിക്കാൻ എന്താ വഴി? കഥ കേൾക്കൂ 

There were a few houses on either side of that road. Everyone was so busy, they barely even saw each other directly. If someone happened to step outside, they might catch a glimpse of each other. A brief word, a quick smile, and that was the extent of their interaction. But the climbing plants and flowers on the walls of those houses were truly good companions. They even felt a little sad that the residents lived without any affection for each other. One day, the butterflies and bees that came to visit these plants learned all about this situation. പീക്കുവിന് പീലി വിരിച്ചാടാൻ വലിയ ഇഷ്ടമാണ്. പക്ഷെ അവന്റെ നൃത്തം കാണാൻ കാട്ടിൽ ആർക്കും നേരമില്ല. എല്ലാവർക്കും തിരക്കാണ്. ഒരിക്കൽ പീക്കു ഒരു പുഴക്കരയിലേക്ക് വെള്ളം കുടിക്കാൻ പോയതായിരുന്നു. അപ്പോൾ അവിടെ വേറെയും ചില മൃഗങ്ങളൊക്കെ വെള്ളം കുടിക്കാൻ വന്നിട്ടുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ചിലർ പുഴക്കരയിൽ അൽപ സമയം വിശ്രമിക്കുന്നുമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അപ്പോൾ പീക്കുവിന് തോന്നി, 'ഇപ്പോൾ എല്ലാവരും ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ, ഞാൻ അന്ന് പഠിച്ച ആ നല്ല നൃത്തം ഇപ്പോൾ കാണിച്ചു കൊടുത്താലോ'. എന്നിട്ടോ? കഥ കേട്ടോളൂ...

Peeku, the peacock loves to spread his feathers and dance. But no one in the forest has time to watch his dance. Everyone are busy. One day, Peeku had gone to a riverbank to drink water. There, other animals had also come to drink water. Some were also resting for a while on the riverbank. Then Peeku thought, 'Everyone is here now, aren't they? Should I perform that good dance I learned?' What was then? Let's hear the story...

വൈരണി കാടുകളുടെ ഉൾഭാഗത്തായുള്ള ഗുഹക്കുള്ളിലായിരുന്നു ഷേർണി കടുവയും കുടുംബവും താമസിച്ചിരുന്നത്. മക്കളായ ഷോലയും നൈനിയും തികഞ്ഞ കുസൃതിയായിരുന്നു. അതിനാൽ തന്നെ ഇരുവരെയും നോക്കി വളർത്തുക എന്നത് ഷേർണിക്ക് വലിയൊരു തലവേദനയായിരുന്നു.
