I went on vacation recently and finally spent some more time working on my generative music project. I rewrote a lot of things since the last versions, but never managed to tie it together in a pleasing whole.

Although previous versions were generated completely in the browser, I found that it was holding me back a lot in its current form, so for this version I decided to run the script via Node.js and send MIDI data to Ableton Live. This also gave me a lot more tone control.

I would like to reintroduce the option to run the code in the browser, but for now it needs a DAW and/or software synths to function.

What can I say, I played a bit with Ableton's follow actions to automate some parts of the song. I used a lot of weird automation. I don't know what I was doing.

The bass is not real, it's just a regular guitar (Pitched down, I think). I have a bass guitar, but it's on another continent 😢
