Good morning and it is a grand morning as I sit here sipping my coffee on the day Podcast Academy Online officially opens its doors to the world.
My thoughts go back to the internal and external milestones met to reach this day. Let us start with quitting a job and at 61 take on the reinvention of learning how to podcast from the inside out. I began the journey of learning who I am (now a brand), who my ideal listener is, and the technical side of creating a show that people would find valuable.
Confidence, voice, learning the foreign language of being an entrepreneur & author all hit me like a huge Hawaiian wave, but I kept swimming, paddling out. My intro show (in 2017) was a knee shaker, the first interview gave such a large feeling of accomplishment, and I hunkered down with addressing the “me” things, I guess it falls into the category of emotional IQ discovery so I could write a Amazon best seller, and co author another book that same year. Stories about my reinvention, opening up so people could get a glimpse into my “why” as I introduced them to the flavor and style of my show; guest conversations that really inspired me in 2017 were included in Her Business Her Voice Her Reinvention how in one year I went from game show hopping to international show host, author & speaker in 1 year.
Once given the opportunity to take Her Business Her Voice Her Conversation to a network, Vercay Radio, I jumped at that chance. Wow, my 6-month-old show is going to be part of a machine built to give the world grand talk radio! And so, it was for 2 years which led to over a million downloads. Can you say milestone!
the last 3 years, I have dedicated time, money focus, my total being to podcast, and I love it! Today is monumental because I can teach other adults – let us say boomers how to podcast. We start with the history of podcasting, I give you courage and time to declare “why “ you want to podcast, where you are going to store those huge audio/video files you will accumulate all the while encouraging you to build you brand – this may include getting to know you!
