Mariners Sogcast

This week on the Mariners Sogcast, we're talking about the Mariners' upcoming series and what you should be looking forward to in the near future. Will the Ms DFA Kolton Wong? How many 2nd basemen do we need? Lots of fun and goofin' around in this one. Hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we did recording it. GOOOO MARINERS!

This week the boys discuss the Boston series and the Atlanta series. Matt Brash continues to struggle while Cal Raleigh makes history in Fenway. What's a wOBA? What's a BABIP? How do these advanced stats affect the decisions made on the field and is that a good thing? The All-Star Game is being held in Seattle this year and the Mariners might have a disappointing amount of representatives. We still have another month and a half or so before we see any Mariners in the midsummer classic.

The Mariners are above .500 on the season. JP Crawford has moved to hitting in the leadoff spot and Julio Rodriguez has moved to hitting 6th in the lineup. The bats are coming around and we see good things on the horizon. Wanna learn about Mark Reynolds? We’ll teach ya. What can we expect from Teoscar? More strike outs? More hits? Bryce Miller is doing incredible things.

Do players who participate in the World Baseball Classic have a disadvantage at the plate during the regular season? Patrick has some evidence that points to maybe this does play a role in our hitting woes thus far.

Happy mothers day to all the moms out there!

Well we're .500 on the season and took the series against the Astros!!

In this week's episode of the Mariners Sogcast, it truly is a sogfest. The Ms have dropped four one-run games in a row on the road and it's looking bleak. In a situation that seems so dim, we have to look at the bright side and keep our heads up. JP and the boys have so much potential and willingness to get out there and win some ballgames. It's early yet, plenty of baseball left. Let's take three against the A's okay?

In this week's episode of the Mariners Sogcast we're going over the series with the Cleveland Guardians, the first series win of the Mariners' 2023 season. Our starting rotation got a bit of a shake up with Chris Flexen added to the mix in Robbie Ray's absence. Concerns about defensive miscues have us worried about player safety as well as the potential to give up runs.
