Viv Govender from Rand Swiss Offshore chose Oil as his stock pick of the day.

"It's oil I do think that the oil price right now could be pushing a lot of upside. Demand is slowly returning to the world but what's really going to help it is that supply is under severe constraint. We have Opec+ constraints, we have the US constraint and I think for the last couple of years there's been a significant under investment in oil, capacity or growth, exploration and the development of resources, and so if we do see the demand returning to any reasonable level, I think the world will be in for a bit of a squeeze."

Kwame Antwi from KOA Capital chose Stadio as his stock pick of the day.

"My pick is Stadio, it's one of those businesses where we think there there's a long-term structural underpin, it has a better balance sheet than some of its competitors it's highly scalable"

Nesan Nair from Sasfin Securities chose MTN as his stock pick of the day.

"I'm gonna go with MTN, I think taking my cue from the oil price, I think it's very well geared to the oil price and the oil price is going to get stronger from here. Of course let's not forget that they had a great update, the company is doing everything right, they're selling assets, paying down debt and that they are at the sort of mid 70 levels, we could see MTN trade closer to 90 in the short term"

Mia Kruger from Kruger International chose BAT as his stock pick of the day and David Shapiro from Sasfin Securities chose China Satrix.

Kruger said: "It's a tough one with markets being at a high but I think that I've liked alot lately is British American Tobacco and yields about 8% in British pounds is very attractive."

Shapiro said: "I'm still going China and Asia, the problem is that I'm finding it difficult to get directly in. I chose the China Satrix fund before, I do it offshore is well."

Caroline Cremen from Adviceworx chose Sibanye-Stillwater as her stock pick of the day.

I'm going for Sabanya-Stillwater, this is the old Sabanya Gold, it is no longer just a gold company,it is a platinum, gold and other metals company. It is has mines in the US, South Africa and Latin America and they have done a lot of restructuring lately. They've paid down some of their debt and of course commodity prices rising so they're in a very cash flush position. Their results are coming out, I think it's on the 18th of February and Mr. Froneman has said that he would like a 7% dividend yield and, there is speculation that there might even be a special dividend.

Nesi Chetty from Stanlib chose Hyprop as his stock pick of the day.

My pick is a company called Hyprop the property sector. It's one we've been waiting to get into for some time now and I guess the discount to NAV and they've got quite an exciting retail portfolio based in SA which is close to about R24 billion. They are also sort of a semi-defensive assets in t​heir European property business. They've done a lot of hard work in adjusting rentals to more sustainable levels although they started that probably even prior to the start of Covid.

Craig Pheiffer from Absa Stockbrokers & Portfolio Management chose Total as his stock pick of the day

My stock is a company that actually reported their quarterly and annual results today (Tuesday). It is Total, one of those global energy majors. I like the company for two reasons one is just from the business perspective that it owns the whole energy value chain from exploring, to taking the oil and gas out of the ground to where they refine it, market it and distribute it. And then they even retail it and you can fill up your car at the total garage. The other big thing is their dividend yield and today (Tuesday) they announced another 66 euro cents for the quarter"

Imtiaz Suliman from Sentio Capital chose Reckitt Benckiser as his stock pick of the day.

I'm going with Reckitt Benckiser, they manufacture a couple of well know brands like Dettol, finish and Gaviscon. They really are a beneficiary of consumers being more health conscious and wanting to sanitise their household and environment more.

Makwe Masilela from Makwe Fund Managers chose Firstrand as his stock pick of the day and Nesan Nair from Sasfin Securites chose Sibanye Stillwater.

Masilela said: "I like the banks, especially FirstRand, they are still relatively cheap compared to other emerging market banks. They have a PE of almost 16 and a dividend yield of almost 2,8%."

Nair said: "On a day like this I have to go for Sibanye, if you think of the humble beginnings that it's come from I think they've done a fantastic job there."

Robert Towell from Sasfin Securities chose NextEra Energy as his stock pick of the day.

"Same as last time, NextEra Energy, the energy utility in the US. They do clean energy, solar, wind, a little bit of nuclear as well and they do about4 000 gigawatts of electricity in the states. They pay a very good dividend and dividend looks like it's going to grow nearly 10% a year going forward."
